He's fine as the new Captain Kirk of the last eight years, but he seems to act much better in movies other than Star Trek.
For example, he gives one of his finest, most earnest performances in Wonder Woman. He's much more endearing, convincing, and compelling than he is in Star Trek.
In fact, as good as Gal Gadot is, Pine is the best actor in Wonder Woman.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the writing and direction.

Hes a great actor in everything. I don't ever question his acting. His choice in movies is another thing though

It is true that some actors are great in one thing and horrible in other things. This sometimes happens even when the roles are similar. I'm sure there are many variables involved but writing and direction are certainly important ones.
BTW, I am not implying that Chris Pine has been bad in anything. I am just talking about actors in general.

He really impressed me in Wonder Woman as well. I hope they go ahead and reuse him as Hal Jordan like that one rumor suggested.

I'm sure he is going to be in WW2. He got a lot of praise for his role as Steve Trevor that they will use him again. They're going to stick with what worked in the first one. I always liked Chris Pine's work. Hell or High Water was one of my favorites.

He's awesome. He truly is one of the highlights of WW. They need to find a way to bring him back.

I don't think Chris Pine is a bad actor or has been bad in anything at all. He's fine as Captain Kirk, but he's just acted much better in other things, like Wonder Woman.
At first, I thought for sure he's a goner (all his WWI comrades are definitely goners just based on age), but then I thought, we really don't see him die.
Maybe he got sucked into some kind of space-time continuum, which will figure into Wonder Woman 2.
Also I thought maybe he and Wonder Woman may have had a kid who grows up to be Steve Trevor Jr. (like in the Wonder Woman TV show), but he'd still be dead from old age, unless Junior is still going strong at 100. Or maybe Steve Trevor Jr. has Steve Trevor III. But it would be a weird dynamic for Wonder Woman to be working alongside her son and/or grandson who would look exactly like her lover from World War I.
So ultimately I'm sticking with the space-time continuum thing.

Love Pine as an actor ( he was GREAT in Hell or High Water, Star Trek, Smokin Aces, Stretch & Horrible Bosses 2 where imo would have made a PERFECT Lex) and he seems like an alright dude all around. But I do NOT want him reprising his role as Steve Trevor! enough with bringing characters back from the dead already

So, did not his character die in this movie?

So, did not his character die in this movie? Yes, but remember that Wonder Woman adapts elements of Greek mythology. And in Greek mythology, when heroes die, they go to the Elysian Fields. So Steve Trevor would be in the Elysian Fields.

I love Chris Pine but I must confess that I have not wanted to see WW when I read in a review that he dies.
