Really, am I the only one that voted for Rocky V? How is that not the worst out of the entire franchise? Even Sly Stallone went on to state that he thinks it's terrible. That's why he made Rocky Balboa sixteen years later. I'm shocked that people voted for the original and the fourth installment. Those are easily the best. The first film laid the groundwork for the entire franchise. As for Rocky IV, I guess you could say the political message behind it kinda had an impact on the entire film. But, you have to understand, that was big issue back in the 1980s. It was the height of the Cold War, and people lived in fear because Russia could have potentially bombed us at any moment. Remember the T.V. film The Day After? That scared the hell out of a lot of people back in 1983. I'm not sure Grudge Match should be considered part of the Rocky franchise. It has totally different characters. I didn't even know it existed. BTW, why include the director's cut? Is there something different about it? Look a little closer, this poll is for the best not worst. The other options are there b/c they can be. Grudge Match is not apart of the series of course, I just included it for fun mainly b/c some people don't even like the Rocky movies at all but do like comedies. Rocky V: Director's Cut contains much deleted and alternate footage and dialog. I think it's better, but that's not saying much. www.dailymotion.com/video/x15esp9_rocky-v-1990-director-s-cut-sly-israel-part01_shortfilms

I guess I must have had worst films on my mind since The Terminator and Die Hard polls. Okay, so I changed my vote to the original movie.

Easy choice - Rocky. It's an entertaining, well-acted, well-crafted movie. The screenplay is the crowning achievement of Stallone's career. The sequels are lesser cinematic achievements with one common redeeming quality - they make you appreciate the original even more. I prefer Rocky VI to all the cash-grab egotrips disguised as sequels: Edit: I liked Stallone in Creed. The second best performance of his career (the best being Rocky of course).

What were you expecting to win when you made this poll?
This is probably the 20th "obvious winner(s)" poll made on this forum in the last week.
Maybe some of you should trade "best" in the title of your polls for "most memorable".
The results would certainly be more interesting.

First one obviously. Don't get me wrong, I love watching all of them, but the first is still the best

He's really good in Copland also I like that movie. Nothing special to be honest but it's one of my guilty pleasures of 1997. Even Stallone's acting was better here than in most of his other action movies.
