While it certainly is not a flop, the 61 percent second weekend drop is certainly worrisome. It is the first MCU movie to have a drop over 60 percent since Captain America: The First Avenger, and only the 3rd time in the series. That's quite a drop. First Avenger was ok but like many a Joe Johnston movie it was just ok. It felt like a first part, not a movie for its own sake. Its not the most epic Captain America movie that could have been made. This is the problem I have with all the Marvel or DC movies (except Superman the movie--except it could have used a big robot).

It's like the real reason for Heath Ledger getting the Oscar in Dark Knight. It wasn't because of the movie itself. I assume you mean it was because he croaked and the non croaked were feeling sorry for him. What a way to get an Oscar! "THE NON CROAKED."

.......yeah, it's not a flop. but it isn't doing spectacularly.
i wonder if has anything to do with either spiderman fatigue (with it being the 3 version, and coming after a poor one) or it being released so close to WW. because if that's the case......JL might need to keep its eyes open, since it's coming so close after Thor3 and will probably munch away at some box office.

Luckily Thor 7 or whatever number they're on is rumored to be about twenty-eight minutes long, so audiences should still be pretty hungry for real/good superhero action.

I remember coming out of Wonder Woman, and while people did seem to enjoy it there were some who were "upset" there was no post-credit scene, and they left the theater saying "dc is too serious for that stuff" but in a patronizing manner. now JL looks to be pretty darn good, and the general reception the trailer got was very positive, but aside from things it has to overcome, it will have a borderline 3 hour runtime; and while i'd love to have a 3 hour film.........pretty sure most people would run away at that.

If JLA succeeds, it will do so on merit and because DC is inherently superior to the MCU; if it fails it will be the fault of the MCU for saturating the market. Simple as that.

Simple as that. all studios are saturating the market, and not just with superhero films, but blockbusters in general.
