Check out the room behind home plate. Not the best seats in the house. At one time, it was 565 feet (or somewhere in that area) to dead center. They shortened it a bit, so there must have been some fencing. One cool old park was Ponce de Leon Park, home of the minor Atlanta Crackers of the defunct Southern League Notice the magnolia tree in dead CF? It was in play for a long time. You could hit a ball into the tree and the fielder would have to wait for it to come down while the runner circled the bases. Supposedly, Eddie Mathews did it a few times.

Another was Sulphur Dell, another Souther League park, home of the Nashville Volunteers. Not an optical illusion. The park had a 22 ft. hill in center and right field. And, since it was built over a city dump, it really smelled of sulfur. Players and fans called it "Sulphur Hell". Babe Ruth flat out refused to play an exhibition in RF and played left, where the hill wasn't as bad.
