nay, nay, thrice times nay. So utterly pompous and lacking in self knowledge that outfit. Another stupid hipster trying to be cool & edgy by bashing U2. How cliched & pathetic.

Not at all, honestly find them tedious. Insulting and deriding anyone's opinion that is different to yours is much more "hipsterish" imho. Why ask opinions just to insult?

Uhh, "A Sort Of Homecoming" is their best song. It is also one of the greatest songs ever recorded. No joke. Hard to find a song in all of Earth's history that can surpass it. All these years later I still love the thing. Magnificent sonically and Bono does a fine job lyrically and vocally (not his usual bombast).
The live version posted above is OK; the superior live version is the original video. (Unfortunatley, however, Bono does not sing the song's best line -- "She will die and live again" -- in this version. Why? Who knows?):
That live version is what the song was before Eno and Lanois got hold of it. Live it is still a fantastically great song, but the real masterpiece is the album version. Lest anyone forget how brilliant this song is (and calling it a mere "song" actually shortchanges its brilliance) here it is:
