With the exception of Time Out of Mind, his later albums are bland and boring, ending in a heavy dose of easy listening hell. Is this the same guy that did "Like a Rolling Stone?"

Perhaps we are spoiled by Dylans 10+ years of youthful brilliance so should cut him some slack for getting on with his life.
Wicked Messenger gave us some indication that he was sick of delivering deep and meaningful songs, but he did return to exceptional songwriting regularly in his career.

Because 24-year-olds and 60-76-year-olds should pretty much come up with the same stuff? Unfortunately, not much to link to with his catalogue.

Pretty rare that any of the old guys can keep the quality up. Elvis Costello's a lounge singer. McCartney's lost his voice and hasn't come up with new stuff of value. Even Neil Young is getting creaky.

'Modern Times' is an excellent record, but his last two albums of Sinatra covers make a rather dull listen. I actually rather liked his Christmas record from four or five years ago, mostly because of how fucking odd it was to hear him singing Xmas songs.

I've never really been a big fan of Bob Dylan, but I do like this:
@nxnwrocks, is that the "easy listening hell" you mentioned? lol
