Sports fans. Do you love when the coach of your favorite squad makes over the top ridiculous comments to pump up his players and team for the upcoming season? Wasn't long ago Doug Pederson compared Carson Wentz (I love him) to Peyton Manning. Now he's stating the Birds roster has more talent than the '96 Super Bowl winning Packers (he was a backup to Favre). Good strategy to gain the commitment of your team? Or does he come across looking like a complete Boob asking to be fired if they finish 5-11? Thoughts? Discuss

Was it Vince Young who actually made that comment?

Reggie White was the best player on that team, I would take him over the Eagles team combined

I ignore media hype. Here in New England, the local guys are bored this summer so the question circulating the sports shows is, "Will the Patriots go 19-0?" No, they won't. Can we move on now? And don't ask them because they're taking it one game at a time...that is, when the season actually starts. Next topic please. Seriously, on CSNNE they're going position by position comparing the 2017 Patriots (who haven't played a down) to the 2007 Patriots who went 16-0 and lost the Super Bowl in the closing minutes. How do you compare a Super Bowl team to a team that hasn't even taken the field? The media finds a way to talk about nothing for as long as they have to.
But I will say in your case those coaches are idiots. High expectations are one thing, telling your guys they should make the Super Bowl this year when they've accomplished nothing in recent seasons is a recipe for disaster. If nothing else it makes it that much easier to fire you if things don't go well.
