I think it looks awesome. The range of aliens and the effects look truly creative. I haven't read much of the Valerian comic, but going into the film I'm treating this as a surrogate Future Foundation side adventure to fill that void. Anyone else get that FF vibe?

I hope it's a big enough hit so that people feel encouraged to try something different whether it's original, foreign, or a previously unknown property. Like that first wave of scifi movies in the early 2000s that was trying to cash-in on Fifth Element and the Matrix? Only perhaps better this time.

I think the success of GotG actually brought that notion to the forefront and hopefully this will continue that trend. People still cite the financial and critical reception of Guardians in arguments now as evidence for the greatness of unknown properties and Valerian looks like it'll creatively blow that out of the water. I just hope it's got some depth lurking below the surface of the self indulgent style.

I am. I'm seeing it on Saturday and I had never heard of the comic but the movie looks great. Hopefully, it will be a hit and we get some new franchises started because of it.

I would probably be seeing it this weekend if not for Dunkirk.

i probably wouldn't go so far as excited. i'm unfamiliar with the comic but i most of the time like Besson's work.

She certainly has the body to run through space. I don't get the appeal of Kat Dennings. I couldn't stand Darcy in the Thor films. The only thing I ever liked from her was the "mew mew" bit.

Kat is busty and has curves. As far as her acting goes she was serious in the movies to Write love on her Arms and Day Dream Nation. Cara is not a good actress nor attractive
