“Legion” and “Fargo” creator Noah Hawley is developing a movie at Fox involving Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom. At the end of a Comic-Con panel for “Legion” Thursday, Hawley announced that he was developing a new film at Fox “I’ll just say two words. The first one is Doctor and the next one is Doom,” he said.
I'll just say one word. WHY?
Doctor Doom, for those who don't know, is the main villain of the Fantastic Four. There have been 3 awful Fantastic Four movies in which they took a crack at the character; 2 of which included origin stories; both of which were varying degrees of wrong and bad.
WTF makes FOX think this will be any kind of worthwhile to pursue? If they cant get him right in the correct version he should be why would giving him his own whole movie be any better? Noah Hawley should really move on to better things.
However, development doesn't mean its going to get made. Hopefully this one gets nipped in the bud. I have an idea for a better FF related character: Silver Surfer. But done right this time, with a real Galactus; not a space cloud, whatever the $%#@ that was.

Why? The reason is quite simple, they need to make terrible movie to keep the right.

I tried to watch "Legion" but couldn't stand it and I never watched "Fargo". I don't see the point of giving super villains stand alone movies.
The 2005 Fantastic Four Movie was actually pretty good for it's time but everything since has been bad and the last one was really bad. So I don't think a Doctor Doom movie makes any sense.

I agree about the 05 movie. Never understood the hate behind it. Was it perfect? No,but it did feel like a F4 movie more than the reboot did. The sequel killed the chances of a 3rd movie. Definitely don't think it helped they went pg with the sequel either. I mean really?

The 2005 Fantastic Four Movie was actually pretty good for it's time I agree, and I always felt the two FF films fit in tone and style with Raimi's Spider-Man films, forming a sort of "alternate Marvel universe"

A Doctor Doom movie without the Fantastic Four in it is utterly pointless. Fox needs to revert the rights back to Marvel and just focus on the X-Men.

what could possibly go wrong? People expected the worst when Fox announced the Planet of the Apes prequel "Caesar"

The Roger Corman Doctor Doom is pretty good. They need someone similar to the guy in this opening to be true to the concept: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSKsJucPJGsThe Captain America in here is also as he SHOULD be in the movies, but isn't.

And with a better script I think it could have worked.

The 2005 Fantastic Four Movie was actually pretty good Agreed. The 2005 FF movie was good and definitely better than any of the crap put out by MCU.

I'm a DC fan myself too, and I didn't absolutely hate the 2005 FF either, but lets not get crazy here. No way was it better than what the MCU puts out. Let's not go overboard with the rhetoric.

Forget it. He's an irrational MCU hater. To him, MCU is basically a series that encourages war crimes.

On the other hand, I don't worship at the foot of Marvel either. I think we're in the golden age of comic book/superhero movies no matter what company they're from. It's all good.

Yeah, it's just that DC-Fan knows no bound when it comes to MCU bashing. I have to say, in my experience its been just as bad, if not worse, the other way around too. Don't get so brainwashed into thinking that its only one sided. Or else you'll be just as bad as DC-Fan, only in the reverse.
The truth is that we're all lucky in that we're seeing some of the most amazing superhero-comic book movies ever made right now, with more to come. We're all lucky.
