By todays standard these Park's rides at the time, 30+ years would be old and many replaced. Walley World in 'Vacation' was actually Six Flags Magic Mountain, in Valencia, California. The amusement park scenes in 'Lost Boys' were filmed at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. LOST BOYS

Highly atmospheric in film is an abandoned Amusement Park ... Carnival of Souls (1962) the director Herk Harvey was inspired and developed the idea for the film Carnival of Souls after driving past the abandoned Saltair Pavilion in Salt Lake City, Utah... the plot follows a young woman whose life is disturbed after a car accident, finding herself drawn to the pavilion of an abandoned amusement park... pictured below In the excellent Japanese neo-noir Gohiki no shinshi , Cash Calls Hell (1966) from Hideo Gosha an abandoned amusement park is one of the seedy social locales of urban decay where the film plays out...

I think La Strada qualifies. More like a traveling sideshow, but close.

East of Eden (1955) State Fair (1933) Liliom (1934) Carousel (1956) Freaks (1932) and a couple of traveling circuses: Nightmare Alley (1947) Man on a Tightrope (1953) Good ones, Spiderwort. East Of Eden's amusement park, circus, whatever it was, was truly surreal, and in blazing color. The much earlier Chad Hanna is set in a pre-Civil War traveling 19th century circus and is very nice to look at. I don't think that Tod Browning's 1927 silent film The Unknown has been mentioned.

Fay Wray has an amusement park named after her in her hometown of Cardston in Alberta, Canada. There's also a small park named Fay Wray Park, the Fay Wray King Kong Fountain & Fay Wray Mountain.

Wake up room" Mention movies that took place as a whole, part of the plot, song and dance number, secret codes were exchanged, or whatever, I also include those old british piers like Brighton, and those created in a studio, and those who ttaveled around any country or fairs. Old and new movies, in an amuement park Rollercoaster 1977 State Fair 1945 Oh What a Lovely war 1969 All really good ones here but the only one I can think of at the moment here ( still a favorite of mine too ) . The Warriors 1979 I'm not sure if this one counted from the movie Beaches 1988 ( beginning flashback scene in Atlantic City, New Jersey ? ) . I agree teleadm " Rollercoaster 1977 " and " State Fair 1945 " were excellent films as well . Thanks so much for your subject post .
