I was playing with a guy who holed his tee shot on a par 4. Beautiful hole. Elevated tee, bunker both sides and back, trees narrowing the fairway to 40 yards. 18th hole no less.
Drinks on him in the clubhouse all night. Good time.

I've been fortunate enough to have had two holes-in-one.
On the second one it was pretty late in the evening and my companion was a teetotaler. When we got to the clubhouse, everyone had gone home. My pal Davey had a date, so I locked my car up and caught a taxi into town (Bromley) found a bar and told the barman I was intending to celebrate my achievement.
His reaction "bullshit. No doubt you're hoping I will believe your fantasy and offer you a free drink. No chance"
So I left went back to the club, got my car, bought a bottle of Highland Park on the way home and listened to the EAGLES for the rest of the night.

I have been playing golf for more years than I would like to mention and never had a hole-in-one. It's a great feeling I would bet. Dad has 3. I was playing in a foursome a hole behind when hit hit one of them. Dad doesn't show much emotion, but he went nuts when he hit that one. |
