Wonder Woman 2nd weekend = $58.5M (-43.3% drop) SMH 2nd weekend = $44.2M (-62.2% drop)
Wonder Woman 3rd weekend = $41.3M (-29.5% drop) SMH 3rd weekend = $22.0M (-50.2% drop)
Wonder Woman after 3rd weekend = $275.1M SMH after 3rd weekend = $251.7M
Wonder Woman 4th weekend = $24.9M (yes, Wonder Woman's 4th weekend was higher than SMH's 3rd weekend, now that's embarrassing for SMH and MCU)
It's official now! While Wonder Woman is the biggest hit of the summer (and 2nd biggest hit of the year so far, behind only Beauty and the Beast), SMH is the biggest flop of the summer.
Sing-a-long with me:
Spider-Flop, Spider-Flop, Just look at that weekend drop. Losing money? Holy cow! Not even China can save it now! LOOK OUT! Here comes the Spider-Flop.

I don't agree with you but you're hilarious.
Spider-Man Homecoming will have legs. Kids love SM and any film aimed at kids has an expanded life span at the cinema.

Sorry to rain on your parade but the general rule of thumb is twice budget = not a flop. In 3 weeks Spider-Man has more than tripled its budget. Also, the success of one film does not mean that another is a failure by comparison. Glad you brought up China BTW. Let's see how the overseas BO pans out shall we. But being of sound body and mind if SMH surpasses WW worldwide, I won't interpret it as WW then becoming a flop. Sing-a-long with me: DC-Fan, DC-Fan Slags of MCU whenever he can Obsessed with the failure, of a franchise It gives him a chubby between his thighs LOOK OUT! Here comes DC-Fan

Let's see how the overseas BO pans out SMH doesn't even have a China release date yet. By the time SMH comes out in China, if ever, not only will it be past the blockbuster movie season in China but also SMH will have been available for downloading from many websites so hardly anyone in China is going to watch SMH in theaters, if SMH even gets released in theaters in China.

The release is expected in August. But let's see what happens. I bet you kind of hope it doesn't get released eh? I mean 6 of the last 7 Marvel films and the last Spider-Man film made more than Wonder Woman in China

Isn't it boring to be so consistent in your trolling guys? We just want the MCU to succeed! We do it because we're MASSIVE Marvel fans. That's why it's important that they reboot and start fresh. Let the stink of this turd dissipate.

Sorry to rain on your parade but the general rule of thumb is twice budget = not a flop. In 3 weeks Spider-Man has more than tripled its budget. BvS grossed over $873M, but MCU fans still called it a flop saying that it underperformed so now the same standard has to be applied to SMH. A 62% drop in the 2nd weekend and a 50% drop in the 3rd weekend for Marvel's flagship character is a flop. SMH's 3rd weekend was lower than Wonder Woman's 4th weekend, that's how much SMH is underperforming. At the minimum, if SMH doesn't gross at least $758M, then SMH is a huge flop. Because $757.9M is what TASM grossed and the reason Sony let MCU used Spider-Man was so that they could make a Spider-Man movie that would gross more than TASM and TASM2. So at the minimum, if SMH can't even beat TASM and TASM2, then SMH is a HUGE FLOP!

Let the stink of this turd dissipate. I'd say the MCU is successfull given its 343 movie output and its 10 year traction...

I would hardly call Spider-Man a flagship character right now, especially when this is the 6 Spider-Man film and second reboot of the character, so it's not surprising it's not make a huge amount. However, with Batman v Superman, they got two of the biggest superheros ever, and even Wonder Woman, who we haven't seen on the big screen in ever. There's no reason why it could not have broke a billion easily.

How well other films did or did not do at the Box Office does not define whether another film is a flop. How much money it grossed in relation to it's budget does. Not a difficult concept to comprehend. For some I think the reason Sony let MCU use Spider-Man is that they could recoup profits from a film they were did not have to fully finance featuring a character they were not intending to make a film of. You really are flagging.

Well, considering Homecoming didn't have WW's artificial boosters... And considering you can't prove that WW had any... Don't need to. It's obvious that being a mediocre film after failures would it look better by comparison, as well as emulating how the MCU does things would also work. Homecoming was a good film after nothing BUT good films, so it's just further proof of MCU's success and thus not surprising.
