And considering you can't prove that WW had any... Don't need to. It's obvious that being a mediocre film after failures would it look better by comparison, as well as emulating how the MCU does things would also work. Homecoming was a good film after nothing BUT good films, so it's just further proof of MCU's success and thus not surprising. Wrong again, BJ.

Homecoming is a crappy movie, which is why it's had huge nosedives on its 2nd and 3rd weekends. Word-of-mouth quickly spread that Homecoming is just another over-rated and over-hyped MCU movie.

No, it just was recognized as another good movie in a long line of good movies. It didn't stand out that much because MCU's got nothing to prove, and it had more competition than WW did. WW stands out for being decent after a bunch of failures, for emulating MCU and for being WW's first movie as opposed to Spidey's 6th. WW had artificial boosts to make it seem more than mediocre, which is really was.

Even though it didn't, every time you write "artificial boosters" it makes me think of rocket shoes, like this:

Wonder Woman 2nd weekend = $58.5M (-43.3% drop) SMH 2nd weekend = $44.2M (-62.2% drop)
Wonder Woman 3rd weekend = $41.3M (-29.5% drop) SMH 3rd weekend = $22.0M (-50.2% drop)
Wonder Woman after 3rd weekend = $275.1M SMH after 3rd weekend = $251.7M
Wonder Woman 4th weekend = $24.9M (yes, Wonder Woman's 4th weekend was higher than SMH's 3rd weekend, now that's embarrassing for SMH and MCU)
It's official now! While Wonder Woman is the biggest hit of the summer (and 2nd biggest hit of the year so far, behind only Beauty and the Beast), SMH is the biggest flop of the summer.
Sing-a-long with me:
Spider-Flop, Spider-Flop, Just look at that weekend drop. Losing money? Holy cow! Not even China can save it now! LOOK OUT! Here comes the Spider-Flop. How does that song end? I forgot the lyrics.

Guys here me out:
What if arfarf and DCfan are the same person or related? They both seem to have an identical passion of going insane over comic book movies!

Spiderman Homecoming final worldwide gross: $880 million. Wonder Woman: $821 million. You are just flat out wrong about pretty much everything, aren't you?

Not the best lyrics, unfortunately… OK, kids, true story time! When we were young, my cousin and I decided to write a musical. Please keep in mind that she and I knew nothing about music (she later learned the trumpet and I the piano, but at the time—nada). It was a movie spoof, about a big-budget Hollywood director who made awful movies that everyone loved. There was, note, no real commentary to this; we were too young for that. The only film director we’d ever heard of was Steven Spielberg, so the lead’s name was Michael Dealberg. Not particularly clever, I know. It was called Psmith for Sale or Rent for absolutely no reason; the extent of our comedy was unfunny non-sequitur. I was Michael Dealberg, and I came on stage with this song: ”Michael Dealberg, in the lights! Michael Dealberg, those lights are bright! Michael Dealberg, doo dang dee lay! Michael Dealberg, this is a good play! Michael Dealberg, not Steven Spielberg— Mich-ael Deal-beg—today!”(Other songs included those all-time masterpieces “There’s a Bubble in the Ocean Somewhere,” “Old Guy Sitting in a Chair,” and “Ming.”) I don’t think we ever got past the “practice” stage, yet I still remember that song… As you can tell, our lyrical skills were about the equivalent of DC-Fan’s “Spider-Flop,” so I know whereof I speak apropos of bad lyrics.

Your cousin was a visionary! Did the musical end with Michael Dealberg being sacked by WB after yet another flop?

Hey, NormanClature , come on, I’m the one who wrote the lyrics! She just drew the poster that we were going to advertise around the neighborhood. Budding creative entrepreneurs, we were!

So, OK, it turns out DC-Fan actually had me beat to random song lyrics about the subject at hand… And I’d actually completely forgotten this thread, even poor Psmith for Sale for Rent!

There's something oddly and hilariously whimsical about a DC Fan thread titled "Sing a long with me" I imagine a kid's show with puppets singing about how they hate the MCU!

Watching Thor: Ragnarok right now, just in case it leaves Netflix before I have a chance to see it. (And, @forceghostackbar, my California pal said he’d watch The Empire Strikes Back with me. Still searching for the pre-edited version, though.) “Thor, son of Odin.” “Surtur, son of—a bitch.” Now that is funny. Anyway, reason for writing this in this thread: anyone else noticed that Marvel’s title theme, over the “Marvel Studios” logo, sounds like the Justice League (TV show, not lousy movie) theme?

My favorite line of the movie! Thor's delivery is great. You should create a "Salzmank watches Ragnorock" thread here and give us your thoughts!

And it’d even satisfy Lord Death Man’s requirement of on-subjectness. (Seriously, though, I wasn’t even thinking of that when I started watching the flick.)
