Sticking with the same team - how about trading for Cole Hamels who burned them with the Phils for years and who is from Cali - another 'lefty'

here's what i do with kershaw.
diagnosis is 4-6 weeks. nonsense.
hold him out a week before the playoffs and give him a start in Single-A ball a week before the playoffs and pull him after 2 innings and see how he fells/recovers.
then you throw him out there Game #3 if the Blue are in trouble....

I'd rather have Gerrit Cole, but Darvish/Hamels/Verlander would all be fine. Dodgers have to talk to them all so the sellers don't have them over a barrel.
