Interesting.
Per ESPN.
Backup to Irving?
Do they hold onto Irving?
Despite the hate Rose has gotten - he really didn't put up bad numbers in New York.

Rose played well for us. He is definitely the strangest guy in NBA (the guy went AWOL for an entire day with us, including not showing up for a game), but he can still have pretty good value to any team.
And Kyrie is on the move. Something really weird going on there in Cleveland. Kyrie wants to leave a championship caliber team and go to Minnesota or the Knicks?!? Shows us how bad things just may be in Cleveland.

Very inspirational clip about falling at rock bottom and rising above with some inspirational movies, athletes and some great musical pieces in this clip. Pacino, Will Smith, Hans Zimmer's 'Time' - What always struck me about the clip? Derrick Rose. How mellow, calm, soft spoken and confident Rose was - pretty inspirational stuff. Rose starts talking around the 3:00 minute mark of the video, 'Why can't I be the MVP of the league. Why? Why can't I do that...... It's great theater. link: Motivational Video (With Derrick Rose)

I can't judge this until we find out what they get for Irving in return.
James-Rose-Love doesn't scare me, but the East is once again theirs for the taking. Can't believe everyone bolting for the West, it's still Golden State's to lose imo.

Nice little press conference clip they showed in that video you posted. But you know what Rose said in his introductory presser for the Knicks? "Fuck." Just let it out of his mouth like it was nothing. Didn't even realize what he was doing. He operates on a very strange level. His own little world. Rose really is a strange person. And of course you know about his three on one sex scandal from last year. Hey, that's what he is into...but the girl he was doing that three on one with was his ex-girlfriend. Strange stuff. Takes his three buddies to have sex with his ex.

I don't like Rose and I really didn't like the idea of the Knicks acquiring him, but I'll admit he surprised me and surpassed expectations this past year.
However, expectations among Knicks fans and expectations among Cavaliers fans are two completely different things. Rose does NOT make up for Irving. He's a downgrade. The only bright side is that he's less of a downgrade than a lot of other guys at PG.
If you're the Cavs, what do you do to improve now? What kind of value do you get in return for Kyrie? Their leverage is limited because teams know they have to deal him. Personally if I was the Cavs GM, I'd be shopping around for a good 2-guard or a guy who can play that position. They're stuck with tristan Thompson because no one will take on his contract. So they can't upgrade at center, they've got Love at PF, Lebron at SF, and now Rose at PG.
At the same time, JR Smith was abominable this past year, he isn't worth $15m a year, he's a terrible defensive player, he's prone to ridiculous behavior and mental lapses, and he's just a cunt in general. Also, he doesn't rebound, doesn't set guys up...he's just a warm body.
Problem is, the league is not exactly overflowing with shooting guard talent...when guys like JJ Redick are getting $23m a year, you know it's a slim market.
