Adam Peaty is a beast. Broke the 50m breast stroke world record twice today.

Hmmm, I was going to correct you on the name of the competition (I was pretty sure that it was the Aquatic World Championship, not just "swimming") but the CBC is also calling it the "Swimming World Championships". Strange, as I was pretty sure that it involved diving as well.

Yeah, it is Aquatic but the diving finished before the swimming started. Not really a diving fan - though Tom Daley was very impressive (after ballsing up in Rio.)

I would be if they had it on tv...bastards at sky didn't pick up the rights this time around. Really hard to find decent highlights online as well, live isn't much use as it's the early early morning. But quite a shock to see that the veteran Pelligrini beat Ledecky

Yeah. I wonder if Sarah Sjostrom regrets not going for the 200m freestyle. That would have been interesting to watch.

It's over. Final medal table (swimming only): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swimming_at_the_2017_World_Aquatics_Championships#Medal_tableYanks dominated. They've got a few superstars in the making - Chase Kalisz and Caeleb Dressel. The latter's starts are absolutely amazing - probably the stand-out thing from these games. He also became the first swimmer in the history of major swimming competitions to win three golds in one session! He won 7 golds in total (a WC record, though tied with Michael Phelps.) Bad games for Australia, France and Germany. Canada not great. Loved Adam Peaty's (breast stroke) leg of the 400m IM - he was miles behind when he took over but totally destroyed the field to hand the next British swimmer a lead. Team US still took the gold though, GB silver.

Dressel made our newspapers. Know him now and be the first on your block because in three years time EVERYBODY will know him. 2020 Tokyo Olympics, here he comes.
