USA beat Costa Rica and Jamaica beat Mexico in the semi-finals.
I know there was a thread about the Gold Cup but it dropped off the first pages.

Yeah, sorry, been a bit unwell the last week or so and kind of let the thread slip. But what a stunner Jamaica seeing off Mexico! I haven't even seen the goals yet but I'd imagine most of the crowd was Mexican and were truly shocked.

I haven't even seen the goals yet but I'd imagine most of the crowd was Mexican and were truly shocked. No need for apologies, not many people seem to be interested in the Gold Cup. It completely slipped off my mind, until today when I thought "Hey, who ended up winning the Gold Cup anyway?" and then looked it up and found out that by coincidence the final is to be played today (I figured it would have been played last Sunday). It must be terribly frustrating to be a Mexico fan, the way they so often lose to teams that have no right beating them.

You have to say that after their defeat of Mexico, the "Reggae Boys" may yet cause upset again as they find themselves unlikely residents of the Final, after being installed as 25/1 outsiders before a ball was kicked in the tourney. But it looks unlikely against a USA side that has won four of its 5 games so far. The USA looked a bit a bit ropy in their, albeit, 2-0 defeat of El Salvador in the final group match but have come on strong since. It should make for an intriguing Final, if the Jamaicans can put up a decent show.
Book : (90 min) USA 8/13 Jamaica 13/2 Draw 11/4
(90 min+ and to lift the trophy) USA 2/9 Jamaica 3/1

Fifteen minutes in and it's 0-0. Unfortunately it's also gone 3am here. USA boasting a resolute back four with Jamaica probing in zig-zag fashion while maintaining a steady rearguard themselves. Unfortunately, too tired to watch any further action. I'll go one-nothing USA in '90. These time differences are a pain.

USA narrows the gap with Mexico in Gold Cup wins. Mexico has 7 and the USA now has 6. Canada is the only other country to have won this tournament (once, in 2000).
