Novak Djokovic has quit tennis for the rest of 2017 as he continues to struggle with an elbow injury.The Serb was forced to retire from Wimbledon during his quarter-final match with Tomas Berdych when a set-and-a-break down and insisted the elbow injury had been troubling him for the last 18 months. A doctor from his home country claimed he had injured himself further from ‘excessive playing’ and insisted that the 12-time Grand Slam champion would now require up to a 12-week rest period away from tennis. ‘After a year and a half of carrying the injury of the elbow, which has culminated in the last couple of months, I have made a decision to not play any competition or tournaments for the rest of 2017 season,’ he revealed. ‘Unfortunately this is the decision that had to be made at this moment. metro.co.uk/2017/07/26/novak-djokovic-out-for-the-rest-of-2017-amid-elbow-injury-problems-6807139/I am not a fan of Djokovic but it's a shame that his health deteriorated to this point.

Good decision, Roger really benefited from time away from the sport and I think Novak might be similar.
