I don't have a problem with that. But don't pretend that MCU movies are masterpieces. For example, if WB made the Wonder Woman movie with Wonder Woman fighting the German soldiers using Batarangs or fighting Ares using a Green Lantern ring, DCEU fans would complain and say that's an awful movie. But MCU makes a Spider-Man movie with Spider-Man using an AI-type suit given to him by Iron Man and MCU fans say "Best Spider-Man movie evah!". It's like if MCU fans like to eat dog shit, I don't have a problem with that. But don't call it a piece of steak. Call it the dogshit that it is. And if MCU fans like SMH, that's OK too. But don't call it a masterpiece. Call it the piece of shit that it is. I think the only DC / Marvel movies that could be considered masterpieces are.. Batman Begins The Dark Knight Watchmen Wonder Woman Spider-Man 2 The Winter Soldier Logan
yeah basically, I have a soft spot for the X-verse especially X1 which defined the entire genre.
But one should not forget that there are a lot of independent, non-DC/Marvel stuff out there, which should be considered too:
Chronicle, Unbreakable, Incredibles, Hellboy, Kick Ass, Super
and others. These are more innovative and less formulaic than the standard studio stuff.

I'd go with most of those as some of the best of the comic book/superhero films - though if I was being a pedant Kick-Ass is a Marvel comic (Icon is a Marvel imprint) though not a Marvel film. But I found a lot of the most enjoyable DC films to come from their imprints - RED, The Losers, V for Vendetta (but even calling V a DC/imprint is even a stretch), Road To Perdition, A History Of Violence

This idea that you must hate the big players if you like the small ones is nonsense. If not for anything else, to have a terms of comparison. The exceptions are nothing without the rule.

I don't have a problem with that. You use him as a target because he oversees a franchise you don't like. No, I criticize MCU dictator Kevin Feige because he's a dictator who not only refuses to allow the movie directors to have the creative freedom to make better movies but also constantly screws over actors and actresses in MCU movies (e.g. Terence Howard, Edward Norton, Natalie Portman, Mickey Rourke).
Fiege is just a fucking bean counter and not a director. He doesn't know shit about directing movies so he should just shut the fuck up and leave the directing to the actual experts. Does the CEO of United Airlines tell the pilots what altitude and speed to fly?

Yeah that AI suit was not the most endearing part of SM:H.
But as far as being the best SM ever, well it's not hard IMO.

Why do you care? Are you suddenly a member of the Directors Guild or Actors Union. Do you really care, or is this like you "caring" about the success of a female director, or a female led comic book movie, after Wonder Woman is made, because it fits your little agenda. You don't like Marvel so you pick ANY reason to criticise their output. How can someone so full of shit also be so transparent?

Norton and Rourke deserved their treatment, they way they acted. Howard also was greedy, and Portman was phoning it in from day one. If he pushed around any of the ACTUAL leads you might have a point but they all love him. And those Directors don't know how to get along and be team players, leave it to them and each movie would be as ashamed of the source material as anything DCEU produces.

Kevin Feige dosen't direct, but if he did it would't be worse than Zack Snyder. That guy dosen't know what he is doing. Good thing Joss Whedon of avengers fame is taking over, don't you think DiCk-Fan?

It's the producer's job to make sure that the director stays on track and delivers a successful film, in the case of franchises as diverse and gigantic as Marvel's you do need someone to steer the ship and make sure it does not travel towards a lightning storm. If a director or writer wants to do something that would alienate fans and divide movie goers and stray too far from everything that has been released thus far then it is probably not the best idea to keep them on board the project, and thus release them over creative differences. In other words, you can't present an Iron Man who is an alien from another dimension in a movie and act like its the real deal when you're making a product that is set within the same continuity where Iron Man is Tony Stark from Earth who is 100% a human being with lots of wealth and technical know-how. Its just not going to work and people will reject it, doesn't matter if the director or writer has serious Oscar credibility or not, it will not go well at all. Producing and directing are two different things, yes, but the role of the producer can extend from just counting beans to being heavily involved in the story. Howard, Rourke, Norton, and Portman screwed themselves. Howard wanted more money and wanted War Machine to be the lead in Iron Man 2, which obviously wasn't gonna happen because its called IRON MAN 2, as in its Tony Stark's story. Rourke's ego also got the better of him and he thought he was the lead of Iron Man 2, not RDJ, and wasn't polite about it either. Norton's ego got the better of him and he refused to promote The Incredible Hulk to give the finger to Marvel Studios for making changes to his own re-write of the script, and he was only interested in reprising the role if they got the same director of TIH for The Avengers, and if he got as much or more screen time than RDJ and the other cast members. Natalie Portman never really cared about the Thor property or her character very much, she only signed onto doing the film because of Sir Kenneth Branagh's involvement. Portman didn't like that they chose a different director than Patty Jenkins and just went along with Thor: The Dark World like it was mostly a chore that needed to get done, she didn't much press for either film. One of her purposes as Jane was to serve as the audience's POV to the mystical aspects of the story and support then unknown Chris Hemsworth, now its a different story - the cosmic side of the MCU has been fleshed out further and Hemsworth is a legit leading man in film, so Jane's no longer really needed unless for a very specific reason.
