Recently the Mil. Brewers celebrated the 35th anniversary of their one and only team that has made it to the WS. They lost but this is their one and only glory days brag.
Frankly, I find it sad. That this is all they can be proud of that long ago. It would be more exciting to see them celebrate a recent team that took it all the way and won it. I guess us suffering fans will just have to take what we can get.
Since I don't follow other teams, I was just wondering if other losing teams do this as well. Mark a milestone from a bygone era of players long since retired and celebrate them even if they didn't quite win the big one or was this just a Brewers thing?
Like do the Browns hold pre-game celebrations for their champs from the 50s?

Well, it was a heritage year for the Brewers, & I think teams who do this non title celebration are usually just gathering ppl while they're all still alive.
With all due respect, the Brewers don't seem to be penalized for never having won anything. Unlike say the Browns, Padres, or Canucks who are reminded on a daily basis. The Brewers seem loveable losers.

Teams will come up with any reason to stick a special patch on jerseys and caps to get a few more bucks.

The Brewers are not able to get on the map even though Hank Aaron was with the Braves and we have Bob Uecker calling the games.
