This theorist in his video has predicted that WWs and the army of dead won't need to fell the wall but can come to westeros through shivering sea which has frozen. The opening credits of GOT shows maps of places that will be shown on the episode. In earlier season shivering sea in the north was shown as huge mass of water but now it is shown as frozen land. This theorist makes some good points.

Here's a statement made by patchface in the book 5
“I will lead it!” His bells rang merrily. “We will march into the sea and out again. Under the waves we will ride seahorses, and mermaids will blow seashells to announce our coming, oh, oh, oh.”
Patchface is almost another sort of wight and the statements above seem to indicate that they will enter the sea and out again. Means the sea is frozen and the army of dead won't need to fell the wall. They will just go over the shivering sea which joins with the Eastwatch. So they will first attack the Eastwatch-by-the-Sea which is the easternmost Castle and from what I remember from the show Tormund is going to defend that castle with his fellow wildlings.

The video pauses on where the sea looks most solid, but as the actual credits continue to roll and the camera zooms out, the sea turns blue again. So it's a bit confusing.

Whether they come from sea or not, it is looking pretty reasonable to believe that they will attack the east-watch first. Jon has sent Tormund and his men to defend the east watch so there's a great chance they will get the first assault from the Night King. Cotter Pyke and brothers of Night's Watch will also be there to face the army of the dead.

I actually never really understood Jon's logic to be anything other than they at least knew they were there.
We know that the walkers were where the tree was and there could be so many of them now (Assuming they have wiped out a large chunk of the wildlings) that they could go after the whole wall at this point
Although eastwatch makes sense, they have a lot of options and especially since they can raise the dead from the other side of the Wall.
