Gonna use this excuse for my favorite Masters story again. The wind was gusting so hard when Bob Rosburg arrived on the 12th tee during the 1956 Masters that he pulled a 4-iron from his bag to ensure he could bore his ball through a near gale. But things suddenly went still at the top of his backswing, and his shot not only carried Rae’s Creek but also the green, the trees, and the hill and fence beyond before landing on the ninth hole of neighboring Augusta Country Club.  |
