Can anyone think of any shows that were cancelled after only one season? Such as Suburbia, Hank, Father of the Pride... Anything along the lines of a sitcom that I can mindlessly watch knowing it comes to an end soon, even if they are bad. Probably why they only lasted one season. Currently not feeling well and wasting way too much time watching shows. I like mindless stuff when I don't feel well though Thank you, thank you for wasting your time for me!!

This one was a favorite of mine and had a bit of everything in it too - even some comedy definitely not boring either . The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. 1993 - 1994 Thanks Daisy for your subject post .

I remember when Lost was on people were talking about it because it had one of the same producers.

Just remembering Lost above, there were a dozen shows like it at the time that got cancelled pretty quick. stuff like FlashForward, anyone remember that? that only got one season. One show that really annoyed me that was cancelled was a british tv show called Strange. It only had a season too. It was a supernatural show about an ex-priest that ended on a cliffhanger. & I can't think of any sitcoms/comedies that lasted only one season. My Mad fat diary is one of my favorite shows and it only lasts 16 episodes, but it's split into three because in the UK we have very short seasons.

Just made me think of Journeyman (2007)with Kevin McKidd. I remember loving this show. It was when he was still known for Rome and not for Grey's Anatomy. I think I would love to give this a rewatch if I could find it, no idea how it ended. Anyone remember this?

Flashforward sounds familiar I will have to check it out. I never heard of My Mad Fat Diary though

There was another similar-ish show around that time, I think it was a year after, called the Event which was supposed to replace Lost. That only lasted a Season too according to google. Also Alcatraz and 666 Park Avenue. I remember liking the first episode of 666 I keep meaning to go back to it.

I’m probably forgetting a bunch, but the shows I can recall watching that only had one season:
Constantine
Firefly
Forever
The Gates
Harper's Island
Intelligence
Missing
Moonlight
I also liked Now And Again, which has already been mentioned.

Tales of the Gold Monkey from 1982. Corny but a lot of fun. On the DVD commentary, the cast and crew talk about the infighting behind the scenes between ABC execs and creator Donald Bellisario (Airwolf, Magnum PI) over the show's direction. Mainly whether it'd be strictly action/adventure in the vein of Raiders of the Lost Ark (which got the show picked up) or something more laidback and character driven (similar to Only Angels Have Wings which Bellisario specifically cited as an influence on the series). It was this plus high production costs made it last only one 21-episode season. That which I picked up as a DVD set at Borders right before they went out of business.

Voyagers! (1982–1983)Voyagers! was an American science fiction television series about time travel. As a "Voyager" member, Phineas Bogg uses a hand-held device called an "Omni" to travel through time to ensure that Earth History unfolds as we know it... When arriving in a new time period, If the Omni's flashes red, it means history is wrong, and it needs to be fixed... Voyagers are issued History Books called "Guide Books" to help them know how history is supposed to be... When the Omni displays a steady green light, history is back on track. In the Pilot Episode, Phineas Bogg's Omni malfunctions, and travels to the year, 1982, a time period in which his Omni is not supposed to allow him to travel to. He lands in the bedroom of an young orphaned boy named Jeffrey Jones who lives in an upper floor of a skyscraper. Jeffrey's dog grabs the guide book, and there is a struggle. Jeffery crashes into the window, and falls out. Phineas lets go of the guide book and jumps out the window to save Jeffery... before they both hit the ground Phineas activates the Omni, and they both travel to another year. Without his guide book, Phineas doesn't know what to do... But it turns out that Jeffrey is quite knowledgeable when it comes to history.... and with no way to get back to 1982, Jeffrey becomes Phineas' partner, and later on, they become best friends... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voyagers! (It's never explained why Voyagers from the already "fixed" future, need to go back in time to "fix" history, that should not need to be fixed in the first place...) Terra Nova (2011)Terra Nova was a 13 episode American science fiction drama television series. The series documents the Shannon family's experiences as they establish themselves as members of a colony, set up 85 million years in the earth's past, fleeing the dystopian overpopulated and hyper polluted present of the mid-22nd century. The last episode of the first season ended with a cliffhanger. On March 5, 2012, Fox announced that it would end the series. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terra_Nova_(TV_series)

No Ordinary Family Firefly Constantine Battlestar Galactica (It had revivals, but only one season in its original run) Totally never heard of No Ordinary Family.. I assume you are posting it because you liked it? Did it have an ending? Seems like something totally different for Michael Chiklas. Thanks
