Do you have a favourite or standout recommendation film that you have discovered from our recent conversations here at IMDB v2.0 ? Since joining the new forum earlier this year I have discovered many wonderful classic films, directors and actors previously unknown . Following on from ideas and recommendations brought to light within the diverse array of thread topics and insightful discussions, we have sourced from around the world some fabulous new additions for our habitual nightly entertainment and added greatly to our home cinema library... some recent Recommendation Highlights that come to mind, Many Thanks to all concerned... Whale Rider, (thanks spiderwort), Cave of the Yellow Dog , Atanarjuat:;The Fast Runner, Three Sisters (1970), Relative Values (2000) Local Hero (1983) Moonrise (33), History is Made at Night (37), Man's Castle (48) Blood and Roses (1960) Where's Poppa (1970) a jet black comedy, a most surprising find came which from an unlikely thread source "Gorilla Men" our friend gunshotwound could not remember anything about the film, only that a character had worn a Gorilla suit. I checked it out over at IMDb as I do with all recommendations, could be okay? order from the USA....Well I cried tears of laughter and enjoyed this film so much, a classic 70s gem. Elsa Martinelli, Annette Stroyberg Blood and Roses (1960) thanks petrolino

This is my best find of recent months. The all-region BFI Blu-ray is less than $10 from Amazon in the US, which is a bargain: Deep End (1970)

It's great you enjoyed 'Blood And Roses'. I'm always inspired in different ways by those around me; just this week I was inspired to buy the Special Edition dvd of 'Flashdance' having learned some fascinating trivia and movie info from mszanadu and jayhn1111.
A good pair of moments for me came with buying 'The Edge' (1997) on dvd and checking out 'Houdini' (1953) on television following a conversation I had here with Salzmank.

LOL while looking over my shelves for the unseen dvd Requiem for a Village. It was made by my mate's late father Lindsay Shonteff (a Canadian working in Britain like his friend Sidney Furie). He was a lovely man whom I believe was very talented and his son if a talented filmmaker in his own right.

Let us know what you think of it. Watched again last night and thoroughly enjoyed . could almost call it a mod kitchen-sink/coming of age film? Stylishly crafted with so many great scenes, as captured in your montage, so many outstanding performances, great soundtrack a real treat Many Thanks for the mention not only have I re-discovered the film now off on a Jane Asher tangent with The Buttercup Chain also from 1970, on the way
