Catching Fire is the worst of the franchise by far and is not even remotely entertaining, thrilling or emotionally engaging. That is my even more unpopular opinion. That's actually an opinion that I find to be refreshing. Kinda tired on hearing CF is the best all the time. Still better than the Mockingjay ones IMO. I enjoy the Mockingjay movies because they are something different and have much more heart than Catching Fire imo. I find the directing and cinematography very ugly in Catching Fire and like you said, it is just more of the same.

None of the Friday the 13th movies are good/entertaining and Part 2 is the worst of the first 8 movies.
Hulk (2003) is one of the best comic book movies.
Mission: Impossible 2 is a lot more fun than M:I III and Ghost Protocol.
Paul Verhoeven is NOT a good or great director.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is the worst Spider-Man movie and the worst MCU movie.

Yeah that is true but the problem I had with them is that I felt there was barely anything going on in Part 1, and Part 2 was an anticlimax feature-length. However, that doesn't mean I hate them, mind you. Both are actually the most mature and darkest of the 4 in terms of the subject matter of war, and I will admit, the very end scene with Katniss and Peeta was a good note to end off on a rather bleak franchise.

There was enough going on to keep me interested and I didn't find Part 2 to be an anti-climax. I found it to be a satisfying conclusion to the franchise. The part in bold is a big reason I find them to be more effective than Catching Fire. I also really can't stress enough how much I dislike the directing of CF.

Funny enough the same director of CF also directed both Mockingjay films, and his last name ends with Lawrence, go figure. Another thing about the MJ films that saves them is the acting that still stays strong and believable, esp by J-Law.

I also think he does a good job with Red Sparrow. I have the same thing with the Russo brothers. I like their directing in The Winter Soldier and Infinity War but I find their directing very dull and soulless in Civil War.

And this is where I disagree that Civil War is up there with the other two great MCU entries they did. In fact I think CW > TWS. Here is another very unpopular opinion. Civil War is one of the worst MCU movies. Good ideas, poor and silly execution of those ideas and very badly done action scenes. Chris Evans looks bored out of his mind in that movie which made it very hard to care about anything his character is doing or suppose to be feeling. Another problem is that I am honestly just sick of Tony Stark's personality. Luckily Evans is sidelined in Infinity War and Tony Stark is mostly just doing action. The writing is a mess in Civil War imo. It has all the elements in place to be a great comic book movie but it just doesn't pull it off. It needed a tighter screenplay with less going on. It's a very unfocused movie. I will say that I enjoyed Civil War a LITTLE more the second time I watched it, but it just isn't my cup of tea.

James Stewart was incredibly irritating in almost all of his performances.

Me, Myself and Irene is a better movie than There's Something About Mary.

I haven't seen Solo, but I agree that Rogue One is much better than The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

It's a Wonderful Life (1946) is a terrible movie.

Clerks II is Kevin Smith's best movie.
Also, Jersey Girl was a nice, solid, mature showing for Smith and does not deserve its bad reputation.
