Personally, I think that's a very good sign (also that it's R-rated). The film will only cover the kids' part of the novel, so this length probably means we get more than a few character moments (which is great news for people like me who are fans of the book).

If it's the first installment of a two part film series, that should be enough.

That's pretty good.
The miniseries was 170 minutes long, and the kids part was about 90 minutes.
That makes this 45 minutes longer. Good!

Good, that'll do. I could've gone for longer even but 2h15m is fair enough for me. All signs point to a winner!

This movie looks absolutely terrifying and that runtime sounds a good amount of time to delve into some stuff.

If it's the first installment of a two part film series, that should be enough. It is? I didn't know that. It is indeed. The second part has apparently already been greenlit and will play 25 years later (which means now) and cover the parts from the novel where the protagonists are adults. It will also dive deeper into IT's origins and the violent history of Derry, Maine (where the story takes place).

Does anyone know if there's going to be a screening soon?

This should have been the running time of the Dark Tower.

^135 mins should have been the running of the Dark Tower. I was hoping for The Dark Tower to be at least 115 minutes long

I thought the trailer was good except for the dopey end with IT shaking. But otherwise, it was rife with atmosphere. And I just saw the TV spot today with a R rating. I was very surprised.
Slightly off-topic but Sept looks awesome:
September 8th: IT September 15th: American Assassin, Mother! September 22nd: Kingsman: The Golden Circle, LEGO Ninjago Movie, Battle of the Sexes, Stronger September 29th: American Made, Flatliners
Probably missing some smaller indies, but the potential for a great month is there.
