It follows the pattern used by the likes of Hitchcock of making 'everyday-like' things scary (birds, shower curtains). In this case, it's simply someone walking towards you. Gives you the creeps long after it was over. I really loved this aspect of it. The fact that the scares were generated from something so normal, so to speak. The idea itself is pretty creepy, and it's executed perfectly. Because 'it' could be anyone simply walking, it could appear on screen at any given time. It made it very difficult to relax when watching the movie. If you're interested, I did a review of it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJf3yh9v_q0

Kept looking in the background of every scene for a "walker".

I saw this as more of a problem than anything. Hard to get scared at some little old lady walking towards you at about 1 mph. Since, so far as we can guess, you could buy yourself months of time by just crisscrossing the country, there wasn't much suspense to it.

Since, so far as we can guess, you could buy yourself months of time by just crisscrossing the country, there wasn't much suspense to it. I read it differently. When she is chased out of her school, I realized just how frightening this thing was. She will never be able to go to college, never have a steady job, never have a meaningful relationship. It will always be coming for her, and because of that, her life will never be anything more than base survival. No property, nothing that could tie her down. Even if she does pass it on, she will always have to be prepared for it to come back to her. That's a terrifying existence in my view, and I see so many metaphorical applications for that situation that it actually is able to effectively transfer movie-world fears to my own real-life fears.

Count me a fan. The only thing I found to be somewhat fluff was the manner in which the curse is passed on from person to person. Even so, that's not too bad, works in some way, and it's certainly not a deal breaker in my view.
Particularly liked:
1. The setting 2. The musical score

I'll probably pick up the bluray or something because I don't get those. It's at the top of list of things to watch film-wise though.
