They said Ben officially signed on for the trilogy, he re drafted his contract.
My ideas for a Batman Trilogy.
Use CGi and make up/ hair dye to make a prequel. They have the technology to make Ben look 25-30. Plus he's doesn't look too old anyway.
1st Reeve Batman: Do a Jason Todd/ Under the Red Hood story. That would tie in the "R" Robin suit in Batman v Superman. That is an excellent story. First of all, Robin needs to be in a seriously well made Batman film. His film debut and follow up (Batman Forever and Batman & Robin) weren't great.
I would even do the flashback scenes like the animated film where young Todd is trying on the suit for the first time, then flashback to his as a young adult/older teen. He needs to lose a young partner. Do the Joker ending with Todd as the Red Hood, perfect film to bring back Leto and do it right.
2nd Reeve Batman: Do a fan service film. Tie in Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman or whatever. You could even do a Killing Joke themed story with Nightwing and Batgirl Barbra. Make this Batman lose everything, so it ties in with the idea of why he lost faith in humanity. Leads into BvS as the ending.
3rd Reeve Batman: Do it after JL part II. Ben is old, now in this one, make him look 65+ years old. He's done with being Batman. Then have Terry McGinnis Batman Beyond story. Great way to end the trilogy.
Then you can have Terry as the new Batman in the JL pics later.

I like those ideas. I'm not a big Batman Beyond fan, but I'm sure it could work.
I think they should do something with the Gotham underworld and focus on the Penguin and Two-Face. That could also give rise to a Joker introduction (assuming it's back a bit in the timeline) or Hush.

I'm hearing counter-rumors that he didn't but what the heck, here it goes:
1) It'd draw from "Under The Red Hood" with some changes. The plot will be Batman returning to crime fighting. But he needs assistance as Nightwing left over a falling out with Bruce Wayne. He enlists Barbara Gordon as Batgirl just as a string of violent attacks against mobsters occur. Nightwing arrives reluctantly to help the two. Meanwhile Two-Face and Penguin form an alliance with the new vigilante Red Hood who proposes a new supervillain enterprise to control Gotham and eliminate competition from rival mobsters. It's revealed that Red Hood is an alive but insane Jason Todd revived by Talia Al Ghul as part of a revenge scheme against Batman. The Batman family successfully defeat both Red Hood and the villains, sending them to Arkham Asylum under the watch of the head official Hugo Strange.
2) The setup for the first follow-up will be a few years after The Batman. A crime lord named Black Mask has taken over much of the criminal underworld in the aftermath of Red Hood's crimes. Jason Todd is ostensibly at Arkham Asylum. The city of Gotham has recently terrorized by seemingly upstanding citizens or familiar super-villains committing crimes when it appears impossible for them to do so. Even Batman is being impersonated. The Batman family investigates and capture who appears to be Red Hood but suddenly he shapeshifts into a known associate of Black Mask named Basil Karlo. Under duress Karlo explains that the assistance of rogue scientist Pamela Isley, Black Mask has created a mutated version of the Lazarus Pits' properties which turns users into shapeshifting monsters nicknamed Clay Faces. The source of the material is extracted from Jason Todd during Strange's illegal experiments and sold off to Black Mask's organization. Batman&company proceed to rescue Jason Todd but now they're tasked with tracking down the remaining Clay Faces running loose in Gotham and bring down Black Mask. By the end, both are defeated, Hugo Strange is replaced by one Jonathan Crane, and Jason Todd is transferred to the safer Blackgate Penitentiary. Pamela Isley is still at large. But then Jason tells Batman in a moment of lucidity that he has a son named Damian and the mother is Talia Al Ghul.
3) Bruce Wayne is conflicted about the revelation that he has a son but he believes it's also a trap by his embittered lover Talia and the League of Assassins. He fears for Jason Todd's life while he's incarcerated as the divulging of the Lazarus Pits is a capital crime to the League. This is all further complicated by the arrival of two extortionists in Gotham: an evil genius named The Riddler and the cyborg like Mr. Freeze. They both lost something important to them during Black Mask's doppelgänger crime spree: The nimble but narcissistic Riddler his reputation and the brilliant if brutish Freeze his wife. The two are joined by the duplicitous Isley who now calls herself Poison Ivy; the other two have no idea she's partly responsible for their losses. The villainous trio scheme to wreck havoc on Gotham with acts of terrorism until their demands are met. Their ultimate plot is to construct a bio-weapon as leverage against Gotham. It's revealed they are working for Talia and the League of Assassins (which includes Damian) after all. Batman learns of this connection then confronts Talia and Damian while Batgirl and Nightwing fight the powerful Mr.Freeze. The cowardly Riddler tries to escape but he's murdered by Poison Ivy. Ultimately, the weapon is disabled and Batman suggests a compromise for Talia to claim a beaten Poison Ivy to punish herself so Jason Todd is spared and the secret of the Lazarus Pits is secure. Damian is impressed by Batman's code of conduct and rejects Talia to stay with the Batman family.

Batman 1: Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, Joker, and Deathstroke, who later gets sent to Belle Reve. Batman 2: Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, Joker, Two-Face, Riddler, Catwoman, and Penguin. Joker shoots Batgirl and she becomes Oracle.

Is Deathstroke still a player though now that the old script is gone? I think it’s still possible The rumor as of now is that he has been switched from the main villain to a secondary villain. I don't know if I like that or not. Having Deathstroke as the main villain would've been something new. I feel like we're just going to get another main villain we've already seen 100 times.

Batman 1 (set before MoS): Batman takes in a young (15-18ish) Dick Grayson to train him as Robin. Parallels are drawn between Batman's origin and Dick's. Barbara Gordon is in the film, and it's hinted that she might join the Bat-Family at the end. Main villain is either Black Mask or The Penguin.
Batman 2 (also set before MoS): This would be a mix of A Death In The Family and The Killing Joke. Dick is now Nightwing and operates on his own in Bludhaven (though he still partners with Batman from time to time). Jason Todd is the new Robin and Barbara Gordon is Batgirl. Joker kidnaps both of Batman's proteges. He kills Jason and he cripples Barbara. Bruce's failure to protect them causes a rift between him and Dick in the end. Main villain is obviously The Joker (Harley is in the movie too).
Batman 3 (set after JL): Bruce finds out that he has a son (Damian, obviously). His son was raised by the League of Assassins, so Bruce is compelled to train him because he wants to keep him on the right path, but he's also not over his failures with Jason and Barbara. He eventually reconciles with Dick and the two agree to work together again to keep Damian on the straight and narrow. Villains could be Ra's al Ghul, Talia al Ghul, and Deathstroke.
So you basically have a trilogy about the Bat-Family. I'd sprinkle in some other famous villains too in smaller roles.

I was always hoping he would be a secondary villain anyway. That’s why it might as well be a Red Hood movie and have Joker in it and somehow have Deathstroke in it as well.

What a way to combine stories and make it actually make sense without having convoluted side plots. Great Post.

This is my old Batman 1 idea:
First Act- The mansion is finished rebuilt. Alfred and Bruce talk about the JL, SS and Joker breaking Harley out. Bruce has “plans”. Barbara Gordon stops by. They catch up. They talk about Dick and how she still helps him from time to time. Bruce and Dick still aren’t seeing eye to eye after Jason Todd’s death who they also talk about. Barbara was also shot that same night.
End of First Act- Batman wakes up in Arkham, huge projector screen shows Joker offering $100M to anyone who kills the Batman. He says Batman is free to leave if he can make it to the rooftop. Arkham is sealed shut from the inside so nobody can get in. Joker unlocks the cells of most of the inmates. This also includes Victor Zsasz, Scarecrow, and Firefly. Deathstroke was able to get inside.
Second Act- Joker is broadcasting this like a pay per view fight. Batman fights tons of villains before it's revealed Joker has a secret agenda. Nightwing, Batgirl and Alfred are working from the outside such as investigating in the Batcave, fighting villains, etc. Nightwing was already targeting Deathstroke for other reasons, so he may be their lead inside Arkham. Batman and Deathstroke incounter each other for the first time, have a good fight but Batman somewhat loses and barely escapes temporarily. Batman finds Catwoman locked up as well and Batman breaks her out before they both fight their way to the rooftop..
Third Act- It is revealed that Catwoman was actually working with Joker for money. She releases some of the Bat Rogue Gallery (Two-Face, Riddler, Bane, and Poison Ivy) and escapes. That was Jokers main goal, not to kill Batman. Nightwing finds a way inside and we see a nice duo fight between Batman and Nightwing against inmates. The ending of the movie is Batman vs Deathstroke having a huge fight and Batman wins. Batman and Nightwing chases after the Joker who eventually escapes after Deathstroke is defeated. End of the film Deathstroke is sent to Belle Reve to Amanda Waller. She plants an explosive device on his neck and welcomes him to the Task Force X.
Mid Credit Scene: Bruce looks at a huge surveillance of some of the villains who have escaped including some of the JL members. He plans to build a larger surveillance, calling it Brother Eye.
Post Credit Scene: Red Hood

I also had the idea to switch up Barbara a bit and instead of her being Oracle, she would still be Batgirl. That way, in a Batman sequel or Batgirl solo, she would get shot and turn to Oracle that way. We can see the rage Batman would have.
