Chose The Raid 2. While not necessarily the best film on your list, it is the one I got the most entertainment value from.

I voted for War as main course, this is an undisputed masterpiece in an unexpectedly classy reboot series, but it is on the gritty/philosophical side, not much of war entertainment. Not sure if you will like it, but it's a must see. Same goes for Dunkirk, though as with all Nolan slightly overrated. If it's the non-MCU, deep stuff you are after, these should keep you satisfied.
If you feel for a lighthearted goodnight's kiss dessert after the heavier main course, "Up" is great harmless fun, beware of the first 10 minutes though.

Depends on who you ask, in my opinion Rise and War are near masterpieces and Dawn is the one that stands out as masterpiece to me.

It always gets me. One of the saddest stories told in a mere 10 minutes.

I thought that 'Rise' was good. It was much better than the usual summer popcorn flick. 'Dawn', on the other hand, is indeed a masterpiece. It's so close to perfect. The tiny flaws I used to have with it pretty much melted away when I rewatched it a few weeks ago. It's actually underrated. 'War' is the victim of an incredibly misleading marketing campaign and a hilariously irrelevant title. Seriously, if they switched the titles of 'Dawn' and 'War' it would make so much more sense. A second viewing might be mandatory. I already said all this to you, didn't I? Sorry man.

This is must see nerd pop culture, even if you hate it (like the prequels ). The first one was a surprisingly decent and moving film where you would have expected a frivolous studio cash in. It's the most fun and Hollywood-template one of the three. It had plot holes, some so-so acting, gravity-free monkey CGI and too much fan service preventing it from being a veritable masterpiece IMO (it was not from Matt Reeves to). The second one is a true masterpiece (one big plot hole though): this was one of the most difficult movies to pull off, they managed it. One shame are the silly names: does not DAWN come before RISE? Was there not more WAR in DAWN than in WAR...? Questions to be discussed into all fanboy eternity...
