LMAO!! Too bad you've got none!
I am done hijacking this thread for what seems like a personal vendetta on your part. Besides, you don't have the intellect for me to bother with. Goodbye. LMAO!!! Grasping at straws and getting desperate much, eh dearie? Tsk, tsk! I mean, seriously, resorting to throw at me what you're guilty of... talk about lame & tacky, even for yourself. The pseudo "personal vendetta" is all on your part, not mine. And my intellect is vastly superior to yours, hence why you can't oppose me. Truth be told, you lost this petty battle as soon as it begun. Thanks for keeping me amused and for making me laugh so hard, at your expense. So long, little girl.

To be fair, to the two people having the argument with each other, neither of you come out of it looking good and you've pretty much hijacked a topic for no reason, it would be nice to hear again, what you think about the two shows though, even though i think you both have already, i think this would be a good point to start fresh and leave the arguing in the past

Blah, blah, blah....
To be fair, the 2 people having the so-called "argument" both come out of it looking better than you do. And both parties have already expressed their feelings regarding the show. Perhaps you should learn to mind your own business...

I finished Season 2 of The Strain on TV a while back (we're behind with it where I am), and I really do wish the character of Zach would be eaten by a strigoi ASAP - though I realise that will probably never happen (sadly). I was really ticked off with what happened regarding Nora's character in the Season 2 final. I mainly like Setrakian, Fet and Dutch, I tolerate Eph, Eichorst is an interesting villain and I've found that I'm able to skip Gus's scenes and not feel like I've missed anything important (sorry, his storyline just bores me). I haven't watched The Mist. All I know about it is that Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) from Vikings is in it. If you only just finished season 2 I would advise not watching the other seasons. Zach will blow up the world just to get at his dad, who keeps protecting him. Zach and his dad need to get killed off if they want season 5 to be any good. - okay, I know that won't happen. My favourite characters are Gus (only because he could and should have a good story, but honestly, he is side-lined so much that it won't happen), Fet, Dutch (who I didn't like at first but do now because the others are so much worse), and Eichorst, as you said. Oh but if you do watch season 3 you are in for a treat because the character everyone was waiting for finally makes an appearance (I think it's in season 3 anyway). Though him, as with anyone with potential, they are put aside for Eph and his damn son. Yeah, she's in it and not doing well. I never thought she could act, in Vikings, and it's the same in The Mist.

I wasn't sure about "The Mist" at first, and although there's some silly mistakes and things that need to be re-adjusted and corrected, I really like it. Plus, the amazing Frances Conroy is in it. She neeeds a better show. True.

For me, there is too much soap opera and PC: girl drugged and raped (or was she?); gay boy being bullied, etc.

I enjoyed the first book of The Strain. Watched the first episode and it wasn't terrible but nothing about it convinced me to keep watching. I read the first book too and was excited to see the show so I didn't read the other two so as not to spoil it. You are right about it, but I keep on watching it - don't ask me why because I'm not sure. Maybe I'm waiting, hoping, to see Zach and Eph get what they deserve (if they do).

The Strain is a hard one to judge, for me, they made a mistake when they not only recast the actor who played Zach, but did a complete 180 on his character, he went from a kind and endearing kid, to a whiny little jerk and it definitely threw me off a little and he quickly became annoying, but not in a good way, as if to say that's how his character should come across, but in the sense, that the acting wasn't good and the character itself wasn't convincing The show also seemed to have issues with pacing and stuff, but i am watching the new season and honestly, overall, i kind of enjoy it, it's not my favourite show, not even close, but for me at least, it's enjoyable enough to watch As for The Mist I was excited leading up to it and looking forward to seeing it, but the first few episodes were disappointing, i just found the fact they seemed to check everything off the list of diversity requirements and then worried about the story a little distracting, but while saying that, as they season has continued and the characters are getting developed and the story slowly moving along, i am enjoying it more and more and i am finding it very interesting I like what is happening in the church more than i thought i would, even the cop is growing on me and i think he's a complete ass The hospital stuff was okay, but could have been a bit better, although we got some decent character developments out of it, although i need to remember characters names, i keep forgetting them, i think i can only remember Mia's name, (probably get told there is no Mia and feel like an idiot, lol) but i can be crap with remembering names The mall stuff though, honestly, i want to think it's completely absurd that they would go the way they're going so soon, but there is a part of me, that is aware, that when you take away our comforts and what we take for granted, Human's regress to basically animals and survival of the fittest, you only have to look when we get a petrol/oil or shortage of water/food or there is a Black Friday sale thing going on, to see what we as a species are really like, so while i find the stuff happening at the mall a bit stupid, it's sadly not really that far off the truth of what would more than likely begin to happen I want to make predictions of the plots and story, but i suck at it, so i won't bother with that, i never get them right But anyway I do find myself starting to enjoy The Mist, but it has taken more than a couple of episodes to get to this point The Strain, well, like about, for me at least, it's enjoyable enough, but not amazing Like you said, I watch The Strain, and The Mist, but neither are anywhere near being favourite shows of mine. The first episode of The Mist had so much PC rubbish that I kind of took a dislike to it right away. Then there is the lack of monsters.......soap opera just doesn't do it for me. If I want to watch a soap opera there are plenty not pretending to be anything else. The Strain has had problems with it's Zach character from season 1 and there have been plenty of people complaining about it, but it just keeps getting worse. If you saw season 4 you know what he did and that his father basically is to blame as much as he is. I hate both so much. Maybe that's why I keep watching - hoping they will be killed.

Is anyone here watching either of these two shows? I am, and I'm disappointed with both. The Strain just doesn't live up to the potential it had, and the boy is even more nerve-grating than Carl was in the first couple of seasons of TWD. Every time he's on screen I keep hoping (in vain), that someone would wipe the damn smirk from his face. The Mist should never have been made. I was excited about it at first, since I loved the film, but it should be re-named 'soap opera in The Mist', it's so darn boring. Anyone have any thoughts about either? Nope. Try picking better shows. You have a point. I watch both but neither are favourites. I think both had (have?) so much potential but aren't realising it.

And the situations mentioned happen in real life every day. It just shows that the real monsters are the humans

I'm weary about 'The Mist', mostly because it just does not seem like a story that can work as a series. It is all about human behaviour in a situation that is beyond recognition, but how long can they drag that out?
I disliked the movie (mostly because of the ending, which I felt rushed and absurd), so I'm going to give the show a miss.
I was wondering about the Strain, was going to watch it. I'll probably still will watch it, but with low expectations, I guess.

Oy, people fighting over tv shows? Leave that to IMDB. Oh, wait..... I like both. Are they Emmy worthy? No, not by a long shot. But they are summer series. If they were on during the regular season, I probably would dvr & save til the summer. I know many are complaining about The Mist. But like every show, I went into it thinking of it as it's own entity, no relation to anything else. I will agree that Conroy is excellent in it. She always plays such wildly different characters. And that probably is why she was interested in this character. I mean, she had a butt-shot......and it was in a tv church.

Little girl, I'll give you whatever I want. What you claim to be talking about is highly irrelevant. There are monsters of all kinds on the show: actual monsters, human monsters and humans who mutate into monsters.

Sorry, neither. Well, I'll give it two more episodes to monster up. If I don't have tentacles by then, I'm out. There's no "neither" about it. Two more episodes ain't enough to see the really good stuff. You need to see the whole 10 episodes of season 1.

Sorry, neither. Well, I'll give it two more episodes to monster up. If I don't have tentacles by then, I'm out. There's no "neither" about it. You know, you have an interesting way of speaking. But "neither" was the correct response regardless. Damned if I am sitting through an entire season to get to the tentacles. The movie gave me tentacles within 30 or 40 minutes, I've already put nearly two and a half hours into this show, and not a tentacle to be seen! ...but this thread has given me a hankering to go watch the movie again. Tentacles ahoy!!!!
