I think I am the only person who does not like The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. WHY? Either I'm asking way too much of motion picture blockbusters (more than "I have famously huge turds") or regular audiences, including you fanboys ask way too little.
I mean, X-Men: Days of Future Past is a damn near perfect cinematic experience... if you don't come into it with preconceived ideas. DOFP is timeless because it relies solely on art than cheap cultural references. The "I have famously huge turds" will only last so long before people realize how retarded it is.
Will Guardians be remembered in 30 years like Terminator 2: Judgment Day?? Short answer is NO!

I dislike both films.
DOFP was casted by the numbers. Singer's X-Films always do this. Screen time is dictated by the star power of the cast. Of course this fluctuates between films and Singer is always happy to accomodate this. (I know he didn't write the screenplay but his sway decides which screenplay will be used). And so Mystique is given prominence (can't waste Jennifer Lawrence) and Beast has found a way to appear normal (why waste superstar Nicholas Hoult?). It ends up just feeling like a manufactured story to pander to the audience, and not an organic story. The very use of the DOFP story was to justify bringing Hugh Jackman (who abandoned the franchise as well as Singer) back as well other members of the old cast whilst retaining the new (well, the stars of the new, Fassbender and Mcavoy can stay, the rest, meh). And so we were robbed of a true sequel to X-Men First Class, my favourite X-film.
Other than that, I found it dumb. Magneto controlled the Sentinels by sticking train tracks up their ass (including the complex electronics, and even when he was entirely focused on something else, they were still under his command) was too far fetched.
Also it was the same old tired story we've seen before. Don't do it Eric- I will- no, there's still good in you- YAWN.

I disagree insofar as I really liked DOFP, but I wasn't as high on it as other people were at the time or now. I think it's very strong at points and a solid X-film overall, but the narrative knot-tying of the two trilogies gives it a weight that allows people to overlook some its warts. Anyway, you make interesting points. I'll keep them in mind the next time I rewatch the X-movies, prolly when I buy a copy of Logan.

But you have to understand that I don't care for Hugh as Wolverine, or for the Wolverine-centric focus. Also I was very excited about a First Class sequel. I really didn't want to see the Singer cast return. And Matthew Vaughn had done enough to justify a sequel. Prior to First Class' release, many were sceptical of its success. Everyone was asking 'why is it being made?'. No one was planning on watching it but it succeeded. And Matthew Vaughn was attached to a sequel and it was planned to be set in the seventies. Then when Singer expressed interest in returning Vaughn bowed out. I think his film would have been better but we'll never know now.

I liked it but stuff like that bothered me. Like it was trying too hard to be funny.

Actually I hate both Guardians movies. It's the only MCU property that I simply don't enjoy on any level. I find the GotG movies to be lacking in every major way. They're just so soulless and generic. The world building is cheap and hallow. The humor is juvenile. The stories are weak. Everything original about them is superficial and only exists because it was all (of course) created in the far superior comics first.
as for DoFP. I like it, but don't love it. I find it hard to care about the younger versions of the characters, especially Mystique. I find her annoying in the newer movies.

I get why Groot and Rocket are popular, but I find that the movies aren't creative or quirky enough to pull them off. They're products of a very deliberately bizarre and off beat comic while the movies embrace a much more generic tone. It's almost like these two characters exist out of context in the movies if that makes any sense.

Quit bringing DOFP into every argument, it was a great movie but trust me many people have already forgotten about it so it won't be remembered like T2 either.
Maybe if you stopped acting like one line can destroy a movie then you're judging movies wrong.

Will Guardians be remembered in 30 years like Terminator 2: Judgment Day?? Short answer is NO! What does one have to do with the other? Besides being based on Marvel comic books? X-Men: DOFP was trying to fix their already shattered timeline but giving a send-off to the old cast outside of Stewart and Jackman, GOTG Vol. 2 was a direct sequel that dealt with familial ties. And DOFP won't be remember as well as T-2 in 30 years, either.

All X-MEN except the first three disregard what came before... It's just one big mess.

I think I am the only person who does not like The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. WHY? Because you're ashamed of comics that don't sell out for that bankrupt "grounded" approach. And T2 was just a rehash of T1, only with more money and less intelligence.
