So the idea is that Marlena is now stuck in some mental hospital where she is going to be unable to prove who she really is?
First of all, it's kind of unlikely that Hattie would really have the expertise to know the exact procedure to follow in admitting her and could duplicate Marlena's signature, etc. Second, in a case like this where the famous Dr. Marlena Evans is admitting a patient who is a lookalike to the famous Dr. Marlena Evans, you would think the admitting staff and administration at the hospital would think twice about the situation and would scrutinize the admitting Dr. Evans to make sure she is legitimate. And finally, if the patient in this case actually claims she is the real Dr. Marlena Evans and the person who admitted her is the fake, it would be very easy to prove her real identity through fingerprints or even DNA analysis (which we know in Salem only takes a couple of hours to perform).
I don't know, this really seems like incredibly amateurish and simplistic writing. Am I missing something here? (And yes, I know, IOAS).

The storyline with Marlena & Hattie is supposed to be unrealistic and over the top. After all, we're talking about Days Of Our Lives, where anything is possible.
