Colden I am super worried that the MCU is so flawed at this point that a simple reboot may not do it anymore; I am all for a re-reboot - you know like when you have to double flush down a famously huge turd?
That may be what it takes at this point. the turd usually starts to stink from the head, but not with you! So glad you take responsibility as Supreme Chancellor here. A great Double Flush is the only way to save what can be saved of the MCU. I still cannot guarantee that this will flush away the bad aftertaste tough.
Let's hope the next MCU generation of kids will prove to be more house-trained and instead of blatant denial they will learn to properly flush when the turd starts to stink...

Put the MCU on life-support. Spider-Man: Homecoming's continuity snafu pulled the plug.

It was terrible but I can't say it ruined the film because EVERYTHING about IM3 sucked.

I hated it, but it was a decent twist. The trailers hyped the Mandarin so much with the awesome dialogue and scenes that never made into the movie. Then, when it turned out that Ben Kingsley's Mandarin was a decoy, it felt like a betrayal and slap in the face especially when the Mandarin was supposed to be Iron Man's arch nemesis. Killian with a dragon tattoo across his chest didn't help either. At that time, we hadn't had a great Iron Man villain since Iron Monger. Whiplash was okay, but disappointing given the time they built him up only to be defeated in less than a minute.
Nowadays, my feelings have mellowed, but it still feels like a disappointment. If it wasn't done for political correctness, I suppose the writers did to make a point that villains aren't always Middle Eastern looking men, but westerners that look like us. Although Marvel retconned the twist, it's unlikely we'll see the real Mandarin again anytime soon. But still, what could have an awesome final chapter to the Iron Man trilogy turned out to be a fun, but disappointing film.
