Nope. Not much in the way of science as I see it.
Fantasy? Sure, absolutely!

Fantasy, supernatural, horror, superhero, drama, romance and comedy are the main mix.
Sci-fi is barely there outside of the Initiative and the fact that the Queller demon is extraterrestrial, but otherwise just a demon. It's not even science-fantasy (even Doctor Who and Star Wars belong more to the fantasy genre than sci-fi).

It had elements of sci-fi, but that was not the premise.

No.
There were elements of sci fi now and again - the Initiative and Adam, notably. But overall I'd call it fantasy/horror/comedy.

No, but fantasy and sci-fi do often get lumped together.

The great thing about Buffy was that it had something for everybody.

No, but fantasy and sci-fi do often get lumped together. I think fantasy has come into its own more than it used to be. It was, back in the olden time, sci-fi/fantasy books and magazines. Now they are their own genre.

Now they are their own genre. It was always it's own genre to me, but they are often lumped together for award shows, or sections in book stores, or fantasy shows will air on science fiction stations (Buffy, Angel, Supernatural, Hercules, Xena, etc all aired on the Space channel).

It sometimes walked the line. It definitely did touch on science-fiction for episodes and even seasons, and it did blend genres. But I wouldn't consider it an outright science-fiction show, no. It leaned more toward supernatural fantasy/horror.
