I was watching the Nostalgia Critic's real thoughts on The Haunted Mansion with Eddie Murphy. He said at one part in the video that Del Toro dropped out of the reboot.
I don't remember if it was actually true that he did drop out. As far as I'm aware he's still very much attached and wants to make this and sent his script to Disney and Disney liked it. It's still showing on IMDb as well that he's still attatched as director and Ryan Gosling is as well.
I still want this to happen very much. Haunted Mansion is one of my all time favorite rides at Disney and while the 2003 movie certainly wasn't good,it's still a very fun movie. The Haunted Mansion should be something like the original Haunting. Or maybe more like Poltergeist. You can make a great movie out of The Haunted Mansion and I think Del Toro would be the one to do it right.

I agree, given Del Toro's style, it could work

Nostalgia Critic also said that we already saw Del Toro's Haunted Mansion. It's called "Crimson Peak."

Nostalgia Critic also said that we already saw Del Toro's Haunted Mansion. It's called "Crimson Peak." Find that very hard to believe. Del Toro said he wanted his Haunted Mansion to be "fun and scary". Certainly don't remember it being fun or scary. It also didn't have the hatbox ghost either.

I liked it and I'm satisfied with that being our unofficial Haunted Mansion film.

I think toro's ego is way too big. He's a good director, but my god he announces too many things and say he's gonna do them and never does. Remember how he kept promising us a hellboy 3? Now Hellboy is being remade.

What does that have to do with anything?
