I didn't get a chance to watch it last night. Did anyone watch it? What did they think?

I watched the first episode of Disney XD.
They did a really good job capturing the tone and feel of the original show, but the voices and animation are quite different from the original and quiet jarring for me since it seems many of the actors didn't even attempt to sound like the originals (and Huey, Dewey, and Louis seem quietly obviously played by middle aged stand up comedians instead of sounding like childhood versions of their Uncle Donald Duck). Tennant also seems miscast as Scrooge, and even the pre-Alan Young Strooges sounded more like the classic Scrooge McDuck than the new one does. Webby's voice actress seems like she'd be the most like the original character, but even the new version of her is WAY off compared to the 1987 incarnation.
I was a little disappointed it was a straight up reboot (the whole "origin story" of Scrooge taking his nephews under his wing is retold, rather than have it pick up where the 1987-1990 TV series left off and be a lose continuation of the old show, like the 2005 Doctor Who was). One strange element they carried over from the 1987 series is that Flintheart Glomgold is Scottish just like Scrooge, unlike in the original stories where he's South Africa. Perhaps one improvement over the 1987 series is that Flintheart Glomgold is drawn to look obviously different than Scrooge, whereas in the 1987 series they could have brothers and Flintheart looks just like Scrooge but with a beard and kilt.
The humor was really good, the show is aimed at kids but there were several laugh out loud moments for me, and Launchpad is just as goofy and bumbling as the old show so he proves much of the comedic material. The story about them going to the lost city of Atlantis was exactly like something I'd expect to see in Ducktales.
Looking forward to seeing how the 2017 series will interpret classic characters like Magica de Spell, Dr. Nogood, GizmoDuck, and Duckworth the Butler. Also glad that Donald Duck will apparently have a bigger role in this one, he's the one link the original show that remains unchanged and has the same voice actor.
Overall, I enjoyed it and really like the concept, but it has some rough patches and glaring issues compared to the original.

At least it seems like Donald will have a bigger role in this show than in the original. WHich i like and was really the one thing i did not like about the original.
It seems good, the only thing i don`t really care for is the animation but i think its just something that is about getting used to.

But I think it's supposed to be in the style as a comic book illustration.

This is what the original Carl Bakrs comics look like So to me the new Ducktales does not look much like the original Carl Barks comics. Or to Don Rosa`s comics ( the man who took over from Carl Barks ) for that matter. The the let's say atmosphere is closer to the comics.

I thought it was really good. The triplets sound more like young adults than children, but it didn't throw me that much and I got used to it real quick. The humor was good for a kids show and it was really fast paced for an hour long episode.
They seem to be setting up some kind of storyline at the end and I'm curious to see where that goes. I noticed that St. Canard was mentioned when Scrooge was meeting with his people. I wonder if that was an Easter egg or if Darkwing Duck will be showing up at some point.

Yes I believe Darkwing will make an appearance.

It is kinda boring that we have to wait until 23 of September for the next episode.

there was a lot of genuine humor. i wasn't expecting to get so many laughs. the triplet's voices are weird. i don't like Scrooge's voice at all.
i'm very enthused at the prospect of seeing Darkwing Duck.

I didn't like it. Not nearly as good as the original. It reminds me of that new Chipmunks show on Nickelodeon.
