I think so. Even Return of the Jedi ISN'T in the same league as the two previous films, but was necessary so as to not end on a cliffhanger.

The prequels were a waste of a good premise, but at least Lucas had heart and it was a story he wanted to tell, bless his clumsy soul. The sequels are totally cynical nostalgia bait cash grabs and made the whole series into a pointless, endless cyclical slog where nobody learns anything. Creatively bankrupt.
So somebody else should have handled the prequels with Lucas supervising, and a sequel should have been a totally new story in the same galaxy that didn't require undermining the previous ones to even happen.

It should've ended after Revenge of the Sith.

no, I started out watching the prequels (I-III) and they won me over bit by bit, despite my initial reservations that SW is a kiddy franchise for 40+ virgins with anger issues. I loved the whole dystopian downfall thing. That is unique in this genre, and Palps is still one of the best written, scheming villains ever.
I was first kind of disappointed with the Original Trilogy (IV-VI) after all the hype, but that too - due to it's undeniable production values and music - won me over with time. They are fairly cheesy, modern fairy tale classics, period.
I have a very hard time accepting TFA as a canon film due to it's lack of originality and imagination (or writing skills). But I liked R1 much and hope EpVIII will at least be serviceable - bitching about things you should like is exhausting after all.

Much better than any villain the MCU has produced!

The prequels added a bunch of backstory that I kind of like. In fact certain things from the original films made a lot sense after watching the prequels, so I kind of like them existing

No. I don't think the prequels were anywhere near as bad as some people make out they were now and I liked seeing how Anakin become Darth Vader. I am hoping the 'Obi-Wan' movie fills in a lot of the blanks between 3 and 4 and answers two questions. Why did Obi Wan not face Darth Vader a second time when he not only beat him the first time but almost killed him and could have possibly done it again and why does C3PO have no memory of Anakin being Darth Vadar and tell Luke he is his Father when it was Anakin who made him? I think the solo Obi Wan movie should have him face Darth Vader a second time and come close to beating him again but lose and go back to Tatooine.

C3PO did not like it.
Obi Wan not trying again: well that's how the story goes and up to speculation. Anakin surviving the lava bath was not known to Obi Wan at first. He assumed that Anakin died on Mustafar. Obi only learned about Vader's identity much later (that plot point could be shown in the film), and it might have been too late as Vader was a VIP and heavily shielded against a surprise assassinations. And what would it have changed? The treason and damage was done, Vader was a replaceable henchmen. Jedi do not take revenge. Killling Palpatine would be more politically relevant (but impossible).

Ohhh I don't remember that part but thanks for letting me know. I would like to see Obi Wan have another battle with Darth Vader in the solo 'Obi Wan' movie since they should have a big villain for Obi Wan to face and the battle we got in the original Star Wars movie was only short 'cause Obi Wan was old and wasn't really at his best and I don't know but I think it is possible they could do it. I mean with talk about a Yoda solo movie happening next which I think is long overdue they could have Yoda face off with Darth Vader between 3 and 4 but I think if the Yoda solo movie goes through it will be more of an origin story explaining how he become a Jedi.
