in Legends the ysalamiri were little critters that naturally exuded Force dampening bubbles around them.
i'm thinking
60% new creature with new important plot device attached
20% ysalamir
20% new creature with no immediate plot relevance

Interesting idea. Perhaps Snoke runs these cheeky chaps through a juicer then uses a centrifuge to extract their midi-chlorian goodness?
Or perhaps they'll just be Star Wars' very own tribbles, hilariously interfering inadvertently by just getting everywhere! Falcon won't start up - there's a porg chewing on the reverse power flux coupling! Ren goes to force grab his crazy lightsaber - only he can't cause a couple of cuties have just run off with it...

This is what I am hoping they are. Comic relief by getting in Chewie's way. Like the chemistry between Chewie and C3PO in TESB. PLEASE let them be that and not important to the plot in any way. |
