Here are a couple that my Dog did, when I was a kid:
Saddest...
When I was a kid, my Dad was in the military and we didn't live near our relatives... So we only saw my Mom's Parents twice a year. We would go and see them for a few days during the summer, and they would come see us for a few days during the holidays... We never took our dog with us, so she only saw them at our house, just once a year.
Shortly after My Grandfather passed away, My Grandmother came to visit, for the first time by herself. Just minutes after my Grandmother sat down and we started chatting, we noticed our dog was sitting by the door... waiting for my Grandfather to come in.
Funniest...
Ahh, so many to choose from... But this one was great...
My Dad likes to have a small vegetable garden in the back yard... Carrots, Green Beans, Tomatoes, Zucchini, Radishes, Green Peppers, Corn. ETC.
Anyway, when my dog was still a puppy, she liked to get into the garden and have snacks. Eventually after being punished several times, she stopped. She learned that if we did not give food to her, that she was not allowed to get into it and eat it.
So one day in the fall, My Dad was sitting on the back patio steps, with his back to the house, and he was picking/cleaning/prepping green beans from the garden to eventually go into the freezer. When he was done with each bean, he put it in a pile on the patio, beside him...
Our dog, was sitting on the patio, between the back door, and my dad, who was facing away from her... And she had noticed this pile of Green Beans, that was NO LONGER in the garden. But there was something odd about this pile... It wasn't in her food bowl.
So, she would ever so slowly, creep up to the pile, and would very gently take one bean from the pile and would run back to where she was sitting before, and eat the green bean... Then she would repeat this "theft" several more times.
I don't know if my Dad knew she was doing this at first, but eventually he discovered what she was doing, confronted her, and she stopped having her snack.
Funniest thing I ever saw her do!

From 1998 to 2012 I had a bearded collie named Pyper. When she was a puppy, she took the end of a toilet paper roll in her mouth and tried to run off with it.

My cat likes hide and go seek. She taps me then moves away as quick as she can to hide. Kind of easy to find her though since she always sticks a paw out and meows.

Funniest: Whenever our dog stole my dad's lunch.
Saddest: Whenever they get old and die.

I had a black lab that I took everywhere. If I popped inside a store or to pay for gas, I would leave her in my convertible and when I came out of the store, she would Always be sitting in the drivers seat. People would be taking pictures of her. It was cute. She was amazing.

My Dad would get up from the couch and leave the room to go do something, and my dog would jump on the couch and lay down in his spot... Then my Dad would come back, and my dog would just look at him as if she was saying: "What?"

Saddest... our second golden retriever was humongous but he got bone cancer which can happen to large breeds. It was very sad for us to see him whither away. he was so strong and majestic before he got sick. it was like watching Albert Einstein die from Alzheimer's or dementia. the saddest thing he would do was to be lay by my father when my father was getting an infusion treatment for nerve damage. he wouldn't move. not even to get out of your way so you could unhook the iv. you would have to put his leash on him and drag him away.
Funniest thing.. our first golden retriever was a girl who came from a family of food thieves. somehow she got on top of the counter -- she was another dog who was big for her breed-- and te all but 2 apple streudel. there were 7.

This wasn't my cat but we used to have a neighbor cat who would visit for a free meal. He would insist that I carry him up the stairs-and after he ate he would start hissing and spitting and stab at my feet to be let out. One time as he was waiting by the door to be let out, he yawned, and decided to scratch his chin at the same time so he made a sound like he was yodeling.

...here's a funny anecdote:
I came home from work and let my Boxer out into my large yard for some quick exercise while I prepared his meal. About a half hour later, I went to the back door and called out his name for his eats. He just sat in the yard and stared at me. I gave him another 15 minutes, and tried again to no avail. Now I was getting perturbed and warned him I would come out there and get him. He just stared at me. I grabbed a broom and waved it at him and he still did not move. I went into the yard and he started to run in circles with me chasing him. He was able to maneuver behind me and threw his considerable weight at the back of my knees and knocked me on my ass. He then ran into the house, and a neighbor who had observed this was laughing his butt off...

Not my Malshis but one of my friends' puppies picked up a poop in her mouth one day and came over sat it on her foot when we were sitting outside and after my friend squealed she took it off her foot and then took it over in the yard and sat it up between her paws and bit its head off. I have never seen a dog do something so disturbing before and you could tell by the look of her face she didn't enjoy the taste of it.
