I would command it myself, invade and conquer New Zealand and Papua New Guinea (while causing as few civilian deaths as possible), and declare myself as King of Australasia. I honestly couldn't do a worse job than the morons currently ruling Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.....
But if I was to choose a historical figure, I'd go with Toyotomi Hideyoshi, just because he made such a charming video game character in the game Samurai Warriors Chronicles....

Gaius Julius Caesar, he was never defeated, until those bloody cowards murdered him.

Since this is a complete exercise in make believe for me, then I would either get Aragorn (LOTR) or Thranduil (The Hobbit) to lead my army.

If I had an army, I'd go "Duh" when people say, "Oh yeah? You and what army?"

Hannibal Smith, because he loves it when a plan comes together.

...on second thought, I'd go with Henry V. His inferior army defeated a superior French army at Agincourt...and he gave that wonderful St Crispin day speech...!!!

Depends on the army you are commanding. If it were a modern mechanized army against another similarly situated army I'd probably take Norman Schwarzkopf.
If it were an old sword and sandal army I'd definitely take Alexander the Great. We'd probably butt heads though.

Depends. Do I just take the commander or do I get the subordinate officers as well? Napoleon and Alexander were great leaders, but they also had great supporting players. Soult, Davout, Lannes, Murat, etc, for M. Bonaparte. Craterus, Seleucius, Ptolemy, et al for Alex. Give one of them and bunch of boobs and it doesn't matter. And the time frame is also an issue. Could Caesar command a mechanize force? Could Zhukov run Hoplites and heavy cavalry?
All things level, probably Napoleon.
