So - apparently SummerSlam is tonight. Wouldn't have known unless my local cable provider just put an ad on. Used to regard this in the 'Big 4' - 'Mania, Slam, Survivor Series and Royal Rumble'. It the main event still Jinder vs. Stinkamura? Don't even know what is going on with RAW. Is it Lesnar vs. Joe? Favor? I've always been a sucker for 'surprises' - so if Hogan comes down the ramp and then Cena F5s him let please let me know

PLEEEAASE!!!!! Jinder drop the belt! did they make it a triple threat at least? or is it just 'Stinkamura'? i actually liked the idea of giving Jinder the strap - guy turned into a 'beast' and had the look. rather poor way they repackaged him so quick - i mean the guy was in 3MB - but anywho...... this 'Stinkamura' guy has been rather underwhelming to me - all i heard about from fanboys was how fantastic 'Stinkamura' was. hoping Cena walks out tonight as the Champ - but I'm out of the loop. 2011 Nash came out of nowhere to powerbomb Punk and Del Rio cashed in - hoping they have something like that planned

Both tag team title matches, the Fatal Four Way, Alexa Bliss/Sasha Banks, AJ/Owens were great matches, which 3 were you thinking of?

The show was pretty decent but yet again I think NXT's Takeover was better than SummerSlam and that surprised the hell outta me because I saw NXT's card and felt under whelmed by it but those matches sure as hell provided for some great entertainment. The NXT Tag title match was my match of the weekend.
In regards to SummerSlam itself, it was a decent show.
Cena vs Corbin was garbage and there is not much worse than Cena just acting like an idiot and making his opponent look like crap. It seems the reports that Corbin has some heat backstage is true because that match hurt him an awful lot.
Big Show vs Big Cass was as anyone could expect. Enzo strips down and lubes himself up in order to escape the shark cage and get knocked out right away was just...yeah another who apparently has heat backstage. Makes me laugh that Cass is now out for most of the year because I don't think he's anything more than a 7 foot tall rat looking dude. He can't cut a promo or wrestle a good match. I won't miss him being gone.
Naomi vs Natalya for the SD Womans title was okay, nothing special. Surprised that Natalya got the win there. I was expecting a Noami win and a Carmella cash in.
Randy Orton vs Rusev was absolute garbage. WWE's booking is just ruining Rusev who should be a prominent main event by now. Instead he attacks Orton before the match and once the bell rings eats an RKO after 5 seconds and the match is over. The string of uneventful Randy Orton matches continues.
Finn Balor vs Bray Wyatt was okay. Finn Balor's Demon entrance was the best part of it. I liked how Bray was a bit hesitant about it and a bit more back offish in regards to him. The ending of it was a bit odd but Balor got the win as he should of clean.
Kevin Owens vs AJ Styles with Shane as the special referee for the US title was a really good match. Seems the right guy won and it seems a Shane/Owens feud is coming. I'm interested in a Team Owens vs Team Shane match at Survivor Series more so than I am the idea of a one on one match.
Alexa Bliss vs Sasha Banks for the RAW Womans title was a good match. The booking leading up to it was awful as it was originally Bayley winning the #1 contender spot after beating Sasha. This came after a PPV match between Bliss and Sasha where Bliss let herself get counted out so the logical booking was for Sasha to get her rematch in some sort of stipulation. I think this match should of been a ladder match or something. Instead Bayley gets injured so they put Sasha right back into the #1 contender spot where she never should of left and she makes Bliss tap out. I do think Bliss tapped a little too quickly but it was a good match.
Dean/Seth vs Cesaro/Sheamus for the RAW Tag titles was a good match. The highlight for me was Cesaro going into the crowd and ripping up a beach ball. New Champions in Seth and Dean which is fine.
Jinder Mahal vs Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE title wasn't very good but honestly I wasn't expecting it to be. Mahal has yet to put on a performance that's anything better than mediocre. Mahal wins on a botched finish after the Sighn Bros get involved. Just rinse and repeat with Jinder matches. If they were to do a 10 second match instead of Rusev vs Orton I'd of done it here and have had Nakamura beat Jinder is 10 seconds. Oh well, I don't really think Nakamura is ready for the WWE title atm but Jinder shouldn't be having it either.
Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman vs Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns for the Universal title was my match of the night. It gave me everything I wanted from it. It was basically a train wreck. Strowman really came out of it looking great basically dominating Brock. I don't recall Brock really getting 1 real move in on Strowman the entire match. Strowman slams Brock through 2 announce tables and throws the 3rd one on top of him. Brock gets taken out on a stretcher only to come back and win by pinning Reigns. I think it was Reigns, was either Reigns or Joe but pretty sure it was Reigns.
All in all it was an average show with a great main event so you at least leave with a good feeling about it instead of a good show with a shit main event that leaves you kinda soured on the rest of the show. I didn't watch the pre show because screw the pre show matches.

Apparently, nobody watched the pre-show matches. They played to an almost empty arena. Bad communication.
The Fatal Fourway was probably the most exciting match of the night. Let's be honest, the crowd just wanted to see these four powerhouse tear the house down, and they did. Strowman really came out of the match as the MVP, which just blows me away to think I'd ever say that.

I gotta admit I thought Braun was gonna be the next Snitsky. It's not my fault! I am however glad to be wrong.

I thought it was a fairly typical WWE 2017 PPV only longer than usual. Here's the thing, with my WWE Network subscription, I'm basically paying for the old stuff and see the new shows as a freebie. I don't like that finishers mean absolutely nothing. And half of them suck. Bray Wyatt's Sister Abigail has got to be one of the most unimpressive finishers I can think of. If 2 guys go out there and tell a story, I'm happy enough. I think there's less bad workers now than in the old days, but fewer standouts as well. It's basically 3-4 hours of perfectly acceptable wrestling with little to no stakes.

Sheamus and Cesaro vs The Shield was a prime example of not looking after finishers. Ambrose survives a long time in the sharp shooter and crossface and then gets nailed by their finisher and then kicks out. I'm sorry but that's BS. It just buries that finisher. By all means have The Shield go over, but why kill their finisher for the sake of a pop?
