On "Feud", the word was tossed around like the word "the". But it was bleeped on other shows on the station. Why did "Feud" get a pass?

The thing is technically on basic cable they are allowed to say the F word. Even more so after 10pm. But the reason why they typically don't is because they are worried about advertisers pulling ads and watch groups taking issues with them. Of late FX has been taking risks with the F word. So far I haven't seen any real complaints, so for the time it may continue.

The "F" word.... you mean fuck? It also depends on the channel the show airs. You would never hear it on an ABC show, for example. And there were more shocking words in "Feud". Like when Jack Warner called Bette Davis a c unt.

Now this season, they're saying "fuck" too.

Is this show any good? Have not watched FX since The Bridge and Justified went off the air. Good? No, it's not good. It's excellent. Jessica Lange & Susan Sarandon are both simply amazing. The storyline is driven & fierce, the dialogues are witty, intelligent & strong, the photography is superb, the costumes bring us back to the 60's of Hollywood and the performances are just perfect, endearing & spellbinding. You have to see it. The series is nominated for 15 Primetime Emmy Awards and another 21 nominations for various other awards. And each nomination is very well-deserved.

Thank you! I love Jessica Lange.

A weird thing I notice on "Mike Tyson Mysteries", the Adult Swim late-night cartoon: sometimes, even within the same episode, they will say "shit" and others they will bleep it. I wonder why they do it that way on that show.

Like in the exemple you gave above.

The other channel mentioned is not irrelevant at all as it serves to demonstrates an exemple. What's irrelevant is what you specifically asked about, since what one specifically asks about often needs to be ignore/dismissed/pushed aside in order to explain a few things and provide a larger spectrum of theories.

It's cable, there was a reason cable came along & certain shows wanted to air on cable. Yet people are throwing fits now-how many decades after cable came along?

I already know broadcast channels like ABC aren't going to allow that sort of language unless it's a special broadcast like when ABC ran "Saving Private Ryan" unedited and uncensored or when CBS ran "Network" and kept in Howard Beale saying "bullshit". I picked FX for a reason: since it is a cable channel, I would expect an "F" bomb or two here and there. What I'm wondering is why it was heard unbleeped in "Feud" but gets censored on a show like "Archer", which allows "shit" and "asshole" to be said aloud.

Perhaps you don't even know even half as much as you want people to believe. Otherwise, you wouldn't be so obsessed with it and you'd let it go and move on. And seriously... the "F" bomb? Get a grip, we're not in 1995 and you're not 10 years old. Just say the word: FUCK. If it is so weirdly important for you to understand such futile things, perhaps you get in touch with the powers that be at those studios and ask them.

It was (at least I thought) an innocuous little question and I had some curiosity about the subject. When you write "vial", do you mean "vile" or "vital"? And how do you know I'm NOT 10?

There was nothing "innocuous" about your pseudo little question so what you claim to have thought is irrelevant. Also, curiosity killed the cat, so keep that in mind. I never wrote "vial" so what the hell are you babbling about? And 10 years old boys do not watch all the shows mentioned in this topic.
