would you have made this post if Simona won? Of course I would have. Uhh, if a boxer uses steroids and loses, guess what? He used steroids and is a cheat! If Simona had won and overcome this outrageous situation, guess what? It still would have been an outrageous situation. Outcome does not matter. Just watch tonight's tennis. Federer - ranked 2, same as Simona -- in his opening match is playing a guy with a lifetime professional record of 7-25! Simona in her opening match had to play a five time Grand Slam winner and a woman with a lifetime professional record of 607-148. In opening round Fed gets a guy with just 7 wins and Simona gets an opponent with 607 wins! Absolutely insane. LIAR SPOTTED

This US Open just feels really strange this year with so many players out injured or unavailable. Doesn't have the feel of a normal slam.

People don't generally get outaged over tennis, Marco. It's a pretty gentile sport. People will get incensed about sportsmen kneeling during a national anthem, but tennis? The closest fans get to upset is when those Williams sisters are winning a little too much.

Hey Tiafoe put on a hell of a show against Fed last night. Was that a fluke or is he the future of American tennis?

Hey Tiafoe put on a hell of a show against Fed last night. Was that a fluke or is he the future of American tennis? No fluke. He's highly touted as an up-and-comer. We've all heard that before in all sports (Freddy Adu, anybody?), but supposedly Tiafoe is really on his way to big things and by the way he played last night, that actually might be so.

I hope so. It'll be fun to have a great American men's tennis player to root for, it's been a while.
