What's interesting is this question seems to only apply when making a query about homosexuality. No one off-handedly asks someone when they decided to be straight. But sure as hell, it's not uncommon for straight people to ask a gay person when they "became" gay or "chose" to be gay. Well, when did anyone else decide not to? Were you,....(wait for it),....born that way?

I now understand. She's a troll. Next. She shows up in every thread about homosexuality and makes hundreds of posts. But, she doesn't care if anyone is gay... lol.

In fact, your entire recent tangent with puvo about how they determined the differences would've been answered had you read the second link I posted. Here, I'll even quote it for you: So you basically just ignored the evidence I posted altogether. Yeah, your quoting of that article was pretty selective, if it's the same one Ruth linked to, which was a lot more cautious and qualified, with "ifs" "buts' and "maybes' everywhere.

I seem to remember that both your Ada and Helen IDs were active this year, with you posting by both of them basically right up to when the board disappeared. You 'remember' wrongly. Ada made comments on films only, and Helen was Melanie by then. Why so obsessed? Why does it matter? I am Awhina here, pronounced afeena for the benefit of Aussie racists who pretend it's pronounced A Whiner (quality projection there boys!).

But, she doesn't care if anyone is gay... lol. I have never said that, Sammy Slimes. What I have said, is that I don't care if gay people "get married". I do care if people choose to be gay, as they are hurting themselves, their families and society.

So you basically just ignored the evidence I posted altogether. Yeah, your quoting of that article was pretty selective The article I quoted from I posted in full. No selectivity at all. Here's the original link again: www.scientificamerican.com/article/study-says-brains-of-gay/Why are you so hung up on the fact that articles say "maybe" or "probably" or whatever? You act as if that gives you licence to dismiss the evidence they present. This despite the fact that you've offered no scientific evidence for your original assertion that being straight is the default and being gay a choice.

How is being gay hurting one's self?
Hurting families? That can happen when the kid decides not to go into the family business. Families get over it.
Hurting society? .............seriously? What does the activity of someone's genitals have to do with your society?

But I was correct that Ada was still active. With the parade of IDs you have assumed on message boards one can forgive me for forgetting about one of your transitions. I'm not sure about why you post the colored tirade.

Because y'all like to insist that it's determined, certain, no-doubt-true-and-proven that "born this way" is true. I can see why you want it to be true, after all without born this way, homosexuals aren't a helpless victim class worthy of protection (to the point of imprisonment of those who hurt their feelings) but just another chosen sexual kink...

What does the activity of someone's genitals have to do with your society? Being gay means taking part in sexual practices that are harmful to physical, mental and emotional health. As my links show, anal intercourse has a much greater danger of spreading STIs, and homosexuals have a much higher number of partners than heterosexuals do. www.webmd.com/sex/anal-sex-health-concerns#1and www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/3050.aspx?CategoryID=118

I don't care whether it's genetic or a choice; I don't see anything wrong with it either way. It isn't actually harming anyone. However, the best current science is in favor of the "born that way" category, which makes sense given that most straight people don't claim to "choose" their sexuality either. One day they just find themselves attracted to the opposite sex. There's no reason it wouldn't happen the same way for most homosexuals. I can't help but notice you've yet to post any science supporting your opinion that you treat as if it was "determined, certain, no-doubt-true-and-proven."

The "coloured tirade" is my attempt at getting it through your thick head that I am Awhina here, and that it doesn't matter at all what my identity was on IMDB board v 1.0! It's nobody's business. The boss guy said everyone starts with a "clean slate" here, and if not for supes' doxing, you braying asses would not have known Awhina = Ada/Helen. My usernames on other message boards (the ones supes is most obsessed with are boards I was on between 8 and 14 years ago!)

What utter bilge! There's a sh!t-tonne wrong with it. 25 years ago, Simon Le Vay first came forward with his ground-breaking "born this way" study on a whole 6 cadavers. The science hasn't advanced since then! I don't have to come up with any science to prove Le Vay's nonsense wrong, I am not the one making the claim. Y'all are, and 30 years ago, you wouldn't have been making the argument that any little boy can be homosexual ... Your defence would be "It's fun, and I love doing it, so drop dead bitch" - as one homosexual man said to me...

I don't have to come up with any science to prove Le Vay's nonsense wrong, I am not the ine making the claim. Y'all are . I gave four links that contained (between them) links and references to dozens of studies on the subject, all of them supporting the "born that way" hypothesis. They've gone about this in different ways, but all of them involved analyzing different aspects of how homosexual brains differ from heterosexual brains. You've yet to argue why any (much less all) of this research is invalid or why it doesn't support the "born that way" hypothesis. You made the claim here: imdb2.freeforums.net/post/66892/thread that "Everyone is heterosexual until/unless they choose otherwise." and you have done absolutely nothing to support that claim. So, again: All available science supports "born that way." No available science supports "choice." Yet you believe it's a choice because...? And 150 years ago we wouldn't have been arguing that that time and space were relative. What's your point?

She's never going to answer, is she?
I get this visual of a kindergarten student stuffing her fingers in her ears, pinching her eyes shut, sticking her tongue out and saying "nanner nanner nanner!"
This can be answered so simply in a few sentences....why all the verbal jousting?
