I was seriously asking what advantage it gives the Astros to have the games at Tropicana Field rather than just playing both series in Arlington. What's the answer to that? Do the Astros have a horrible record in Arlington or something? There's no advantage. But why in blue hell should the Rangers benefit from 2 home series (they're out of the playoff hunt - spare me they can go on an epic run in September) after a natural disaster struck your home state and a fellow city is asking for your help? It's like you're stranded in the desert - a motorcycle rides by and stops and you ask for help - the motorcyclist in turn states - sure - $50!

This is just a horrible look for the Rangers all around. Natural Disaster devastates your country - not only your country - but your state no less. Even if you are a wormy cold hearted used car salesman / con artist - you should view this as a good opportunity to get some good publicity acting like you actually 'care' and are doing something for your fellow 'brother'. ESPN link: Texas Rangers - Most Hated Team in AmericaWhat good does the publicity do them when it's the publicity based on half-truths that is driving the train upon which your entire thread is based? Anyone who actually reads the details sees that the Rangers didn't do anything to warrant this type of reaction, and you're actually suggesting that they make false gestures to appease those who aren't smart enough to read past headlines. Fuck that. Shame on you, I say. Hey Dickwad - let's see if a Natural Disaster hits your city and you lose loved ones. Are you going to give 10 shits about 'Money' when your team is already out of the playoff hunt? Or are you going to try and appease a fellow brother. You know what you do if it's an inconvenience to your fans? You reimburse them since you pretty much 'print' money as it is- it's a Natural Disaster of epic proportions and peoples lives have been lost - in your own state no less. Speaks volumes about your character.

How would the Rangers be benefitting from holding the present series in Arlington? They offered to donate the entire gate from the games. Do they have an unusual win record against the Astros at home? Re the games at the end of September, the concern there is for Rangers fans as much as it's for anything else. Again, aside from one final series at the very end of the season, the Astros games are the only home games they have for the last three weeks of the season.

I don't remember you saying two words about it, so take your half-assed little hissy fit and blow it out your twat. I also used to live in New Orleans and while I didn't live there when Katrina hit, I did drive down there and help out the red cross for two weeks. Did you? But yeah, false gestures about helping your fellow man that amount to jack shit are the way to go. Stupid bitch.

That's how they benefit. I don't know - maybe your wife and kids love you being away from home too.

I don't recall posting here in 2012 And FYI - I have family all up and down the Jersey Shore - so right back at ya Bub - you don't know me from a can of paint and what I did during that disaster. So if you truly did experience those life altering disasters - shame on you for having this attitude Topgun.

You may as well be arguing with your cat. Let it go for your sanity's sake.

The Leafs are in a good spot right now with their rebuild and might surprise some people this season. With the Jays and especially Raptors its difficult because the biggest and best free agent players won't play in Canada and thus we can't compete with you big boys down there. I don't get that. I have the same argument about Philly. You're in the Northeast. You're not that far from New York. And let's call a spade a spade - it's not like Toronto is 'Calgary' - you're still in the Northeast. New England is an attraction too which is close by (i.e. Boston). Worse areas for Pro Sports I can think about like Wisconsin, Arizona, Tennessee (I love the collegiate atmosphere down there - but truth be told - if I'm an pro athlete I'll retire there - not play there - same as Arizona and Green Bay) Well let's face facts man, Canada is a different country even though its similar to the US in a lot of ways. Some guys, those with families, don't want to move their kids and go to school here for a lot of reasons, while others feel they lose out in endorsements by playing in Canada.

Let it go for your sanity's sake. i don't see a 5 year stretch Rose went thru like Howard did sorry if i offended your man love of a 'slap singles' hitter as opposed to a beast who bombed 58 homers and knocked in over 100 ribbies for years. but you keep lovin' that singles 'slap hitter' bub. i'm not even even a Howard fan. i just don't get all of the over the top love for the 'White Tony Gwynn' - but then again i wasn't around when you were Pops And just a heads up Bub - I don't know if I ever recall ANYBODY defending the 'legend' of Pete Rose like you - I get it - You were one of his 'Special' Kids weren't you?
