The judges: Nothing but a bunch of has-been hacks who don't know real talent if it bit them in the ass.
What they really need for judges are a bunch of industry insiders. Like a professional choreographer, a Vegas show producer, and a music executive who signs bands and singers for their company.
Instead what we get are a bunch of has-beens who show how easy it is.
Come up with the worst sob story you can think of and you get through to the next round.
The "talent" and the acts: If all of these acts are so good, then what in the hell are they doing on a TV talent show looking for their big break?
The super famous ones who are already pros would never have to do any of this shit before going pro because they are too good for it.
Why doesn't that singer, that magician or that dance act already have a contract with a place where they can do their thing, make recordings or is already performing live and getting paid for it?
Because they are not good enough for that.
They are not good enough for an agent to believe in them and to take them on.
Ever notice that when the show is over, every single act fades away into obscurity and is soon forgotten about? Same thing with The Voice.
The only "reality" talent show where they became famous was American Idol.
Even a really poor singer like William Hung got a bit more than 15 minutes of fame.
The Beatles were rejected a whole bunch of times before they got their big break.
Makes me wonder if they would have ended up on a schlocky show such as AGT if they were around today.
AGT is nothing more than an ametuer open mic night just for summer filler and fun.
Sure, I can't help but get hooked in but with this epiphany that these acts are never and never will be as good as professional ones since they don't have contracts already, takes it down a few more notches for me.
