Not so much much 'futbol/soccer' so to speak but: Josh Harris: Owner - New Jersey Devils - NHL Owner - Philadelphia 76ers - NBA Shareholder - Crystal Palace (you'd probably know about them - I'm oblivious and ignorant when it comes to 'futbol/soccer'. Sometimes as a fan - power can be scary. Harris has never been thrilled with his 'lease' so to speak in Philly playing at the Wells Fargo Center in Philly - fear has always been he'd move the team to Joisey - where I think he owns the Prudential Center.

Guardian's research has really gone downhill. Can only comment on the RB part. So many mistakes in one article.
First, RB Salzburg are no longer owned by Red Bull. We had that discussion endlessly. If they were, RB Leipzig wouldn't play in the Champions League.
The Keita deal.
The deal is worth 65m € = 60m £ at minimum. Keita was bought by Leipzig for 15m €. So it's not a 100% increase. It's more than a 300% increase. Even if the £50m fee was correct, it wouldn't be a 100% increase. It's basic arithmetics, really. Istres are not a third division but a 2nd division team. Also, it was the same person who brought him in in both cases, so there's little point discussing who did better.
They failed to point out the most important thing concerning the group. The most important thing is that they created a global corporate football identity. They established a football philosophy and tactical blueprint in 2012 every one of their clubs including the youth teams are playing according to (don't need to tell you by now who the brain behind that blueprint is). There are variations of course, but the general idea is that everyone works according to this blueprint, coaches are brought in depending on whether they fit the philosophy, on every level. That's behind the supply chain, as that is why the transfers of players and staff work so easily.
And just for the record, RB Salzburg being formally "independent" since 2015 doesn't mean the supply chain is broken. They don't get their commands directly from the flagship anymore, but they're still sailing with the fleet.

I find it disgusting, it's basically cheating and it's demeaning to the club down the ladder.

I am pig ignorant when it comes to the rules about ownership/shareholdings in football clubs Is a player, whilst still registered as a player allowed any ownership involvement with other clubs ? ie. Can CR7 own or part own Motherwell or Rothes FC of the Highland League ? Could Messi buy Falkirk or CSK Moscow ? Or is that a no-no like betting ?

Charlton fans bless them, are most unhappy with their situation. The set up has been an utter disaster for them with very poor players forced upon them by the owner. It just created a feeder system and only the biggest of the owned clubs prosper from it. The FA should address it but of course they don't give a toss about the fans.
