Ferris Bueller comes top.
Bugs Bunny a close second.
Whom are the most confident movie characters? Hell, why not throw in books and TV too.

Most of the characters woody allen has played. Huh? Wood Allen plays a neurotic loser in most films, doesn't he?

Han Solo and Indiana Jones are the first that spring to mind...though Harrison Ford seems to sweat confidence.
Another is Walter Sobchak (John Goodman) in "The Big Lebowski." His highlight for me comes when the Dude is threatened in the third act. He steps right up to the plate (and does some gruesome things in the next few minutes). It's my favorite movie and I've seen it a million times, but I still get a goosebump or two when the nihlists ask Walter for his money and he refuses. Also him protecting the oblivious Donnie.
