Figured we should have a thread where we can talk about IT without posting individuals thoughts/reviews on this board. But I enjoyed the film. Everyone gave great performances, especially Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise. I wasn't really scared, but it was genuinely creepy, thanks to Skarsgard performances. He had a lot of weird and kinda fucked up movements with his limbs and I thought it was effective. My theater loved it too! It was definitely one of my best movie-going experience. However, I do think this film was a little too overhyped and missed the mark. Even with the first trailer as the hype was building, it was kinda presented as this groundbreaking film in the horror genre, but it really wasn't and still falls the cliche horror tropes which did make it predictable in some spots. There was some noticeable shoddy CGI spots when it came Pennywise and some of his transformations or "monsters". I understand they didn't want to do the spider again, but I wished we saw some kind of "true" form of Pennywise rather than him just transforming into every kid's fear at the end. Though there was a nice reference to the spider "form" when he attacked one of the kids and his hands turn into two large spider legs. Overall, I'd give it a solider 8 out of 10.

They'll likely show the true form of IT in the second chapter when the gang are adults, just like they did in the miniseries.

Thought it was top notch. Really liked the chemistry between all the kid actors. And Bill Skarsgard did a good job as Pennywise imo. 8/10 (maybe 8.5/10 on a re watch)

I get the impression they're saving the more elaborate stuff for "part 2", too.
