I think a better analogy is like me saying I dislike racists. I never said I don't like or respect the subgenre, but like any genre there are good and bad movies and most of Sandler's movies aren't good. Unless you are referring to ONLY late career Sandler movies as it's own subgenre. Do you like EVERY subgenre of film? There is a big difference between not liking an entire subgenre and not respecting it. I don't like spoof movies but I don't hold any ill will towards the genre. When I write something like "That subgenre of comedy gets disrespected" I'm not at all focusing the comment on you as an individual. It's a broader comment than that. Wow, something we agree about.

Pixels is an insult to classic video games I know a lot of people hate Pixels. They're all uptight and humorless so they can all blow me. Well let me know where the humor in Pixels is, because i dont really see it.

"Happy Gilmore" and "Billy Madison" remain on my mantle of all time funny. I feel as though Sandler really knew his voice and identity in the 90s. It got away from him a bit, but I have high hopes. He's a very creative presence and is not done making movies...I think his best are still yet to be made.
"Click" and "Spanglish" let him show a little range. "Punch Drunk Love" I could take or leave...but the guy has potential. "The Wedding Singer" is the movie that ultimately convinced me.
Jerry Lewis is an interesting comparison. Like Lewis, Sandler will have to adapt to being a bit older in his future endeavors. Mel Brooks did this effectively, and while I may be the only one, I think Sandler is in that league.
